     They resided in Jay, Maine, where three, at least, of their known children were born, and probably in other towns in Maine. He was an itinerant Baptist minister and he was instrumental in forming Baptist congregations in Maine towns.1

     Briggs Ball was born on 5 July 1790 at Bedford, Middlesex Co., MA.2 He was the son of Jonathan Ball and Abigail Child.1 Briggs Ball married Hannah Ackerman on 14 June 1814 at Second Baptist Church, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.3 Briggs Ball died on 16 May 1868 at Milford, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 77.1
     They resided first in Boston, but in 1816 they returned to Milford, NH and located on the farm with his father.1
