     Rufus Lemuel Ball was born on 8 March 1820 at Marlow, Stanstead, QC, Canada.2,3 He was the son of Alanson Ball and Seraph Wright.1 Rufus Lemuel Ball married first Eliza Ann Sanborn.2 Rufus Lemuel Ball married second Alma Jane Porter, daughter of Lorenzo Dow Porter and Sarah Catherine Fordice, on 1 January 1878 at Roxton Pond, Shefford Co., QC, Canada.2 Rufus Lemuel Ball died on 24 November 1899 at Granby, Shefford Co., QC, Canada, at age 79.1,2 He was buried at Granby, Shefford Co., QC, Canada; Comment by DGB: Rufus Ball purchased a cemetery plot described as Lot No. 2 in the 2nd Range of the Methodist Cemetery on 24 Apr 1888 for the sum of $12 .
