Ball died on 30 December 1891 at age 73.5 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.5
     Comment by DGB: It would appear that Hiram Ball and Catherine Mott were divorced, since Hiram is on the 1850 census with second wife Mary and Catherine is back living with her father, but with son Noah Ball. End of comment. He from his "Seaman's Protection Certificate": age 23, born New Shoreham RI on 14 September 1841 at Newport, Newport Co., RI.2
