     He purchased the Col. Mead farm in Randolph Center of 250acres in 1905 and raised potatoes and farm animals. The Balls were the first family in Randolph to own a car, a White Steamer.4

     Comment by DGB: In her estate, her father lists himself as the "only heir at law". There is no mention of a husband or children and she is referred to as "Christiana E. Ball". This leaves some question as to whether Christiana E. Ball, the daughter of Alvin, was ever married. End of comment.4
