He was born in Athol, Mass., son of Levi R. and Sarah (Kenney) Ball, and was a life long resident of this town (Athol). He was employed for many years by the Union Twist Drill Co. He enlisted in the World War and after going to Ft. Devens, was dispatched overseas May 1, 1918. He was in service in the Toul sector, St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. He returned from service in May 1919. Besides his father, he leaves a wife, Hilda Lane Ball; a son Edward; two sisters Mrs. Gladys Seeley and Mrs. Madeline Peppard and a brother Gerald S. Ball, all of Athol."1
