Amelia Jane Ball1,2

F, #30488, b. 9 January 1879, d. 15 July 1938
Amelia Jane Ball was born on 9 January 1879 at Dennysville, Washington Co., ME; Note that the 1900 census lists her birth date as Oct 1878.1,3,2,4 She was the daughter of George F. Ball.2 Amelia Jane Ball married Arthur Napoleon Hurd, son of Frank H. Hurd and Maria K. Page, on 2 October 1898 at Hallowell, Kennebec Co., ME.5,2 Amelia Jane Ball died on 15 July 1938 at Winsted, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 59.3 She was buried at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted, Litchfield Co., CT.3
Comment by DGB: Her mother is named on her marriage record as "Flora E. Ball". No marriage has been found as yet for George F. Ball to a Flora E. anyone. However, George F. Ball did have a sister Flora E. Ball who was blind and never married that could just be a coincidence of names. Further, no trace has been found of George F. Ball after Amelia's birth in 1879, so he may have died before the 1880 census where Amelia was living with her grandparents. End of comment. As of 2 October 1898,her married name was Hurd.
