     Sometime after 1927 William F. Luce and Caroline May Corby became foster parents to an infant Margaret Baker. Margaret was born to Elizabeth (Wright) Baker and her husband. Elizabeth had another daughter named Katherine (named after her maternal grandmother). When the two children were little their father died and mother could not support them. While Elizabeth was at work her mother, Katherine Wright who had married Arthur Corby as her 2nd husband, gave Margaret to Caroline and William Luce to raise. Elizabeth remarried a McNeal but would not take Margaret back but kept Margaret's sister Katherine. Margaret always went by Margaret Luce but had never been legally adopted. However, when she graduated from High School Elizabeth went to school and insisted that she graduate under the name Baker. Margaret married George Lipput.1
