She went into show business at an early age and was a headliner by 1911. In four years on the stage she was the featured performer in at least fourteen operettas presented from New York to Walla Walla, Washington. Her diary shows she played a dozen different roles in as many different productions in New York, before she began touring. Between September 5, and December 31, 1912, she played 27 different cities in over 75 performances. In her early 20's, she was talked into trying out for a place in a travelling opera troupe by one of her friends. When the producer, Col Henry W. Savage, heard her, he was so impressed he signed her on the spot. She was soon the drawing card for the advertising for the troupe. She spent four years on the stage, before marrying Frederick William Reiske. Then she 'retired' into being 'just a housewife.1'
