From an obituary: Deliliah Cecil Wilson was born Feb 18, 1889 in the township of Battle Creek, Calhoun County and passed from this life April 21, 1916, aged 27 years, 2 months and 3 days. She was the oldest child of Andrew and Joanna Wilson. When she was only 13 years of age she suffered the loss of a kind and loving mother and since has always been a faithful and devoted sister to those younger than she, who needed care. On April 25, 1906 she was united in marriage to Clair Simmons of Scotts. About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Simmons moved to Vicksburg where they have since resided and where they have made many friends. She has lived through many weary days of sickness in the past winter and was a patient and uncomplaining sufferer. Everything that a devoted husband and sisterly care could do for the loved one was done, but all in vain. She passed away at Borgess Hospital where she had been taken last Friday afternoon and those left behind can only remember that she has ceased to suffer and gone to a brighter world. She leaves to morn her loss a devoted husband, her father, who resides in Battle Creek, three sisters, Mrs. Ralph White, of Scotts, Misses Doris and Laura Wilson of Battle Creek; and a brother, Russell of the same place. She will be much missed by her many relatives and her friends and neighbors.1
