     As of 11 June 1885,her married name was Keys.1 From an obituary in the "Crawfordsville Journal Review": Waynetown, March 6 Mrs. Nancy Ann Keys, 75 years old, widow of Jason Keys, died Friday night at 11:40 o'clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Virgil Ellis, five miles south of Crawfordsville. She had been seriously ill since suffering a stroke of apoplexy four weeks ago. Born Dec. 19, 1867, near Waynetown, the daughter of John and Nancy Ball Mullen. Mrs. Keys was married to Jason Keys, June 11, 1885, at Danville, Ill, the husband preceding her in death Sept 17, 1941. Mrs. Keys was a member of the Waynetown Methodist church and had always resided in this community, except since the death of her husband when she had made her home with the daughter near Crawfordsville. Also surviving are; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Bannon of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Ralph Booker of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Mrs, George Risk of North Salem, and Mrs, Aura Keys of Crawfordsville; a brother, Mose Mullen, also of Crawfordsville; two grandsons and two granddaughters.      Jason Keys was born on 11 September 1862 at Montgomery Co., IN.1 He was the son of William Keys and Esther Matilda Thomas.1 Jason Keys married Nancy Ann Mullen, daughter of John Mullen and Altha Anne Ball, on 11 June 1885 at Danville, Vermilion Co., IL.1 Jason Keys died on 17 September 1941 at Montgomery Co., IN, at age 79.1 He was buried at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown, Montgomery Co., IN.1
     From an obituary in the "Crawfordsville Journal Review": Jason Keys, the last surviving child of Wm. and Esther Thomas Keys, passed away at his home one mile south of Waynetown, Ind., on Wednesday, September 17, 1941, at 1:00 p.m. He was born Sept. 11, 1862, on the farm where he passed away at the age of 79 years and 6 days. He was one of the early farmers of Wayne township, living his entire life on the farm where he passed away. He had been in failing health for a number of years but only seriously one week. On June 11, 1885, Jason Keys was married to Nancy A. Mullen. During their happy 56 years of married life were born four daughters, Stella, Mabel, Bernice and Zula. Bernice Harwood having passed away April 2, 1926. He was a member of the Waynetown Methodist church and Od Fellows lodge. He possessed those manly qualities that go to make a great character. He was ambitious and energetic, ofter going beyond his physical strength. Because of his friendly character he leaves a host of friends; his widow, Mrs. Nancy Keys; three daughters, Mrs, Clarence Bannon and Mrs. Virgil Ellis of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Mrs Ralph Booker of Mt. Vernon, Ind; four grandchildren and one great grandchild in whom he found much pleasure; nieces; nephews, and other relatives.1      Photo courtesy of Kim Hancock.1
