Darrin died on 21 October 1946 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, at age 89.⁴ She was buried at Fulton Street Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.³
     Comment by DGB: She is lListed on her marriage record as "Alice Hunter" suggesting she may have been married earlierto a Mr. Hunter. There was an Alice Hunter, daughter of Frederick and Ellenor Hunter that was born circa 1857 in MI, but her parents were respectively born in MI and Canada, wheras this Alice lists on censuses that both her parents were born in NY. Further, the marriage records for children Byron, Mary and Winfield all list their mother's maiden name as Darrin. End of comment. As of 1 July 1880,her married name was Ball.⁵

     Hazel Julia Ball was born in January 1882 at MI.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel Ball and Alice H. Darrin.¹ Hazel Julia Ball married Martin Westveer, son of Christian Westveer and Kate (????), on 14 March 1904 at Holland, Ottawa Co., MI.^3,2 Hazel Julia Ball died on 5 February 1967 at Deep Creek, Yadkin Co., NC, at age 85.⁴
     As of 14 March 1904,her married name was Westveer.

Darrin.¹ Dewey Ball married Ruth Davis, daughter of Edward Davis and Hattie Cram, on 19 July 1920 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.^3,4 Dewey Ball died on 17 January 1980 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, at age 81.²
