     Comment by DGB: Some records suggest his birth was at Sheffield CT and most show his birth in 1757, but his death record (as posted in Providence RI) shows his age in 1822 as 68, which woudl put his birth c1752, a year that would be more in keeping with his mother's age at his birth being within typical child-bearing years.
