     Valona Shinneman was born in January 1856 at IN.¹ She was the daughter of Adam Shinneman and Valona Pond.¹ Valona Shinneman married Richard H. Maring.¹

     Mary Baker was born on 12 August 1848 at New Salem, Fairfield Co., OH.¹ She married Vallorus Brown, son of Jeremiah Brown and Lavilla Pond, on 6 February 1870 at Whitley Co., IN.¹ Mary Baker died on 12 November 1909 at age 61.¹
     As of 6 February 1870,her married name was Brown.

     Comment by DGB: Based on the ages in the 1850 census, one would suspect that Sarah was not the first wife of John Goddard, since son John would have been born when she was about age 13. I am assuming that John Jr. was not the son of Sarah. End of comment.
