Ruth started teaching in the late 1920's while taking Summer School classes at Western Michigan University to complete her degree. She taught for many years in Plainwell, MI. Then she went to Rockford to teach and later become an Elementary School Principal at Parkside Elementary School which opened in 1954. Ruth completed her B. A. in Education and continued attending Western Michigan University during Summer School until she received her Masters Degree in Education in the mid 1950's. Ruth was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs - female auxiliary of the IOOF. Her father was in IOOF as was her maternal grandfather, George Henry Dunn.1
Ruth started teaching in the late 1920's while taking Summer School classes at Western Michigan University to complete her degree. She taught for many years in Plainwell, MI. Then she went to Rockford to teach and later become an Elementary School Principal at Parkside Elementary School which opened in 1954. Ruth completed her B. A. in Education and continued attending Western Michigan University during Summer School until she received her Masters Degree in Education in the mid 1950's. Ruth was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs - female auxiliary of the IOOF. Her father was in IOOF as was her maternal grandfather, George Henry Dunn.1
