     Comment by DGB: There is a problem with the parentage of Herbert. Based on the data found to date, he was born to long after the death of his purported father, Wallace Sternbeck, but born significantly before the marriage of his mother to James Carlton. He eventually took the surname "Carlton" from his step-father. End of comment.
