     Comment by DGB: the marriage record lists Thomas as age 28, meaning b. c1869, but clearly lists his parents as William Barton and Eliza Holmes (who were the parents of Thomas H. Barton born circa 1850). Both the birth record of daughter Minnie and the 1901 census confirm that there was an error in the marriage record as to the parents and that this marriage relates to Thomas Edward Barton Jr., whose parents were Thomas Barton and Esther Holmes.
