Obituary from the "Shreveport Times" 21 July 1995: Seymour Ball Many, of 651 Ontario, Shreveport, died Wednesday, July 19, 1995 at The Glen Nursing Home. Mr. Many was born in Washington, D.C., December 29, 1895. He was a graduate of New York University School of Engineering in 1917 with a C.E. degree conferred in 1918. He was a member of Kappa Sigma social fraternity and Tau Beta Pi, honorary scholastic engineering fraternity. He was an associate member of the U.S. Naval Institute for a number of years; a member of the Board of Governors of the New York Fraternity Club representing Kappa Sigma, and other social and philanthropic organizations. He served in World War I with the U.S. Naval Railway Batteries under Admiral Charles P. Plunkett. He had licenses as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Louisiana. He was Chief Engineer of the Allied Maintenance Corporation in New York until he retired in 1959. Following his retirement he moved with Mrs. Many to Shreveport. In Shreveport, Mr. Many was a communicant of St. Mark's Cathedral. He served three years on the Board of the Association of Retarded Children; served as a consultant to the Woman's Department Club when the Education wing was built, and since 1972 he has served as a consultant and honorary member of the Board of Glen Oaks Home.
