     Comment by DGB: I have combined the recorded birth of "Edith" with the family story that older sister Jennie was caring for her younger sister "Dora" when Dora was severely burned by hot coals on the stove at home that resulted in Dora's death. This is supported by the 1900 census for their mother showing that 2 children had died before 1900. End of comment.
