Meanwhile the records for Lancaster MA show a marriage intention recorded 11 May and a marriage certificate issued 10 June. It may have been that there just was some delay in Lancaster recording the marriage date or it could mean that there were two separate ceremonies on different dates to accommodate relatives in both towns.^2,3 Deacon Levi Ball died on 11 October 1849 at Townsend, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 59.⁴
