Ball married Sarah Mason Howe, daughter of Martin Howe and Mary Buffum, on 2 August 1834 at Worcester, Worcester Co., MA.2 Richard C. Ball died on 13 December 1873 at age 63.
     Sometime after November 1864 Richard C. Ball and Sarah Mason Howe adopted a young Elizabeth and renamed her Mabel S. Ball (Comment by DGB: Mabel married Edwin J. Magrath in 1882. End of comment.3)
