Sarah Ann Roberts1,2

F, #5329, b. 21 November 1849, d. 17 April 1921
Sarah Ann Roberts was born on 21 November 1849 at Colrain, Franklin Co., MA.1,3,4 She was the daughter of Dwight Roberts and Phebe Vincent.5 Sarah Ann Roberts married Josiah O. Ball, son of Henry Ward Ball and Thankful Crozier, on 24 December 1872 at Deerfield, Franklin Co., MA.5 Sarah Ann Roberts died on 17 April 1921 at Greenfield, Franklin Co., MA, at age 71.2 She was buried at East Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Franklin Co., MA.2
[comment by DGB] Sarah's marriage record for Josiah Ball lists her name as "Sarah Ann Fish" and her parents as Dwight and Phebe Roberts and that marriage was in 1872. On the 1880 census, Josiah Ball is living with his parents and shown as married to Sarah and "their" daughters Abbie and Bertha are shown as granddaughters to Josiah's parents. Since Abbie was shown as age 12 (which would have been about 4 years before Abbie's marriage to Josiah Ball), that strongly suggests that Abbie was a daughter from Sarah's first marriage to a Mr. Fish. [end of comment] As of say 1867,her married name was Fish. As of 24 December 1872,her married name was Ball.
