     From an obituary in the "Sherbrooke Record": Mr. Alwin K. Taylor, one of the oldest market gardeners of Stanstead County, passed away at his old home place on Nov 17th, after two weeks serious illness. Mr. Taylor was born on October 13, 1852 (sic) and was well known throughout the Eastern Townships having attended Sherbrooke market during the summer seasons for the past 40 years. His wife predeceased him twenty years ago, while one of his daughters died eight years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss one daughter, Mrs. Howard Hartwell, one grandchild, and a half sister, Mrs. George Worthen. The funeral service was held at his late residence on Monday November 19, many of his neighbours and friends attending. Those from a distance were Mr. & Mrs. Ben Stewart and Mr. Frank Stewart of Rock Island, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Bean of Suffield, Mrs. Winfield Parker of North Hatley and Mrs. Cutts and son Ralph of Sherbrooke.¹

     Isaac Worthen was born on 4 February 1781 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ He was the son of Captain Michael Worthen and Dorothy Brown.¹ Isaac Worthen married Hannah True, daughter of Captain Benjamin True and Mary Locke, on 21 November 1802 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ Isaac Worthen died on 20 September 1874 at Hatley, QC, Canada, at age 93.¹ He was buried at McConnell Cemetery, Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹

     Hannah True was born on 24 May 1784 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ She was the daughter of Captain Benjamin True and Mary Locke.¹ Hannah True married Isaac Worthen, son of Captain Michael Worthen and Dorothy Brown, on 21 November 1802 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ Hannah True died on 20 January 1864 at Hatley, QC, Canada, at age 79.¹ She was buried at McConnell Cemetery, Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹
     As of 21 November 1802,her married name was Worthen.

     True Worthen was born on 1 April 1804 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ He was the son of Isaac Worthen and Hannah True.¹ True Worthen married Minerva McConnell, daughter of Thomas McConnell and Roxanna Hovey, on 2 November 1831 at Hatley, QC, Canada.¹ True Worthen died on 4 June 1900 at Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada, at age 96.¹ He was buried at McConnell Cemetery, Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹
     From an obituary in the "Stanstead Journal": An old landmark is removed from our midst in the death of Mr. True Worthen which took place at his home on Monday June 4th. He reached the commencement of his 97th year the first of April. He was probably the oldest person in Hatley and has been almost a lifelong resident this side of the lake. he came here with his parents from Chester, New Hampshire when about 15 years old. he married Miss Minerva McConnell, sister of John who was representative of the County of Stanstead and survived her some 10 or 12 years during which time he has been faithfully cared for ny his son George and wife. He was a man of kindly disposition as well as an upright Christian respected by all who knew him. Mr. Worthen is survived by four sons besides several grandchildren and other relatives. His son. S.T. Worthen was at his bedside some days and Mrs. S.T.Worthen arrived in time to attend the funeral as well as a grand-daughter, Mrs. (Rev) L.S. Bean of Saco, Maine. Funeral at the school house here on Wed at 10:30. When Mr. Worthen came to this country there was only one house at Ayer's Flat and this side of the lake was almost entirely a wilderness.¹

     John Dearborn Worthen was born on 10 January 1810 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ He was the son of Isaac Worthen and Hannah True.¹ John Dearborn Worthen died on 2 May 1878 at Hatley, QC, Canada, at age 68.¹ He was buried at McConnell Cemetery, Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹

     Matthew F. Worthen was born on 15 July 1805 at Salem, Rockingham Co., NH.¹ He was the son of Isaac Worthen and Hannah True.¹ Matthew F. Worthen married Jane Richards on 8 December 1831 at NH.¹ Matthew F. Worthen died on 8 September 1862 at age 57.¹

     Leslie Lloyd Dezan was born on 22 June 1917 at Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹ He was the son of Montie Fred Dezan and Elizabeth Aida Hartwell.¹ Leslie Lloyd Dezan died on 25 June 1917 at Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹

     Freda Alberta Dezan was born on 11 November 1928 at Ayer's Cliff, Stanstead Co., QC, Canada.¹ She was the daughter of Montie Fred Dezan and Elizabeth Aida Hartwell.¹ Freda Alberta Dezan died on 22 December 1972 at age 44.¹
