     Cornelia Madeline Voshel was born on 23 March 1919 at Grand Haven, Ottawa Co., MI.¹ She married Charles Norton Ball, son of William Smith Ball and Elsie Fleming, on 31 August 1939 at Spring Lake, Ottawa Co., MI.¹ Cornelia Madeline Voshel married Raymond Paulus on 3 July 1973 at Littleton, CO.¹ Cornelia Madeline Voshel died on 28 October 2001 at Sutton, Clay Co., NE, at age 82.¹ She was buried on 6 November 2001 at Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale, Maricopa Co., AZ.¹
     As of 31 August 1939,her married name was Ball. As of 3 July 1973,her married name was Paulus. From an obituary: Connie Ball was born March 23, 1919 as Cornelia M. Voshel in Grand Haven, Michigan. In high school she enjoyed playing basketball and was quite athletic. She married Charles N. Ball on August 31, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan and they honeymooned at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. Chuck and Connie had three children: Barbara, Charles Jr. (who died as an infant) and Stephen and they lived most of their married life in Michigan and Colorado. She enjoyed playing tennis when the opportunity presented itself after her marriage to Chuck. During World War II, Connie served as a volunteer nurse's aide while her husband was away to war. Connie also worked various jobs during her life including: working at a drug store soda fountain, in a Dime Store, as a telephone switchboard operator (which she enjoyed the most), as a clothing sales clerk, and as a check processor in a bank. Chuck was killed in an automobile accident on February 26, 1966. Connie briefly joined the Eastern Star after Chuck's death. Connie married Raymond Paulus on July 3, 1973 and lived in Arizona until after Ray's death in 1987. Connie lived with her son, Steve, and daughter-in-law in Arizona from 1987 until 1989. In 1989 Connie moved to Iowa to be close to her daughter, Barbara, and in 1999 moved to Nebraska with her daughter and son-in-law. Connie has had a variety of special interests throughout her life including: reading, sports on television - especially college basketball and football, crossword puzzles, and cooking/baking. She was known as a lovely woman who enjoyed entertaining guests and was an exceptional housekeeper and cook. Connie passed away on October 28, 2001 in Sutton, Nebraska and was returned to Arizona for burial.¹

     From an obituary: Mr. Donald S. Ball, 72 years of age, passed away Wednesday morning at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Born June 14, 1901 in New Era, MI, he came to Muskegon in 1903. For many years, he was a self-employed fuel-oil distributor, retiring in 1963. Surviving are Everett F. Ball of Muskegon Hts., Clifford B. Ball of Muskegon; another brother, Charles Ball preceded him in death in 1966; also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Thelma Karr of Muskegon. The funeral service for Mr. Ball will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Lee Funeral Home, the Rev. Wendell Gebben officiating. Mr. Ball will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee Funeral Home beginning 7 o'clock this evening.¹
