     Sarah Baldwin Backis was born on 9 December 1814 at Bozrah, New London Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Jabez Backis and Hannah Lathrop.² Sarah Baldwin Backis married Charles Ball, son of Amos Ball and Mary Kimball, on 13 October 1841 at Lebanon, New London Co., CT.³ Sarah Baldwin Backis died on 28 November 1864 at New Haven Co., CT, at age 49.¹

     Lydia Graves Pratt was born in June 1853 at CT.³ She was the daughter of Gustavus Pratt and Eunice Williams Bull.² Lydia Graves Pratt married Charles Backus Ball, son of Charles Ball and Sarah Baldwin Backis, on 12 January 1881.¹ Lydia Graves Pratt died on 28 March 1945 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL, at age 91.²
