     Sarah Nevins was born on 15 February 1759 at Dunstable, Middlesex Co., MA.² She was the daughter of Thomas Nevins and Bridget Snow.³ Sarah Nevins married Nathaniel Ball, son of Ebenezer Ball and Sarah Gookin, on 3 November 1774.³ Sarah Nevins died on 8 August 1843 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH, at age 84.² She was buried at Hebron Village Cemetery, Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.²
     As of 3 November 1774,her married name was Ball.

     Hannah Ball was born on 21 January 1777 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² She was the daughter of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Hannah Ball married Jonathan Ladd.³ Hannah Ball died on 25 March 1822 at age 45.² She was buried at Crawford Cemetery, Alexandria, Grafton Co., NH.³
     Her married name was Ladd.³

     Bridget Snow Ball was born on 17 December 1778 at NH.² She was the daughter of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Bridget Snow Ball married Peter Brooks, son of Peter Brooks and Judith Foster, on 12 January 1803 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² Bridget Snow Ball and Peter Brooks posted marriage intentions on 23 November 1802 at Groton, Grafton Co., NH.³ Bridget Snow Ball died on 8 October 1860 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH, at age 81.² She was buried at Hebron Village Cemetery, Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.²
     As of 12 January 1803,her married name was Brooks.²

     Lucy Ball was born on 19 November 1781 at NH.^2,3 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Lucy Ball married Enos Ferrin, son of Enos Ferrin and Mary Currier, on 3 November 1805 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.^4,5 Lucy Ball died on 1 November 1873 at NH at age 91.⁵ She was buried at Hebron Village Cemetery, Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.⁵
     As of 3 November 1805,her married name was Ferrin.⁴

     Nathaniel Ball was born on 16 October 1783 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² He was the son of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Nathaniel Ball married Sarah Blood, daughter of Samuel Blood and Sally Bartlett, on 5 March 1810.³ Nathaniel Ball died on 30 March 1848 at Wentworth, Grafton Co., NH, at age 64.²

     Ebenezer Ball was born on 28 November 1785.² He was the son of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Ebenezer Ball died in 1812 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.²
     After reaching the age of 21, went to Sterling, Massachusetts and learned chair-making. Later in Boston, at the opening of the War of 1812, he joined the militia and was stationed on Governors Island in Boston Harbor, where he took cold and died.¹

     William Ball was born on 25 August 1792 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² He was the son of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ William Ball married Fanny Danforth, daughter of John Danforth and Elizabeth Gregg, on 12 August 1816.² William Ball died on 17 October 1871 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, at age 79.² He was buried at Fulton Street Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.³
     Comment by DGB: It has been suggested that there were two other daughters, Deborah and Louise A., but they do not show with William on the 1830 census; perhaps they died young. End of comment.⁴

     Deborah Ball was born on 5 August 1790 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² She was the daughter of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ Deborah Ball married William Powers, son of William Powers and Mary Thompson, on 23 February 1816.³ Deborah Ball died on 21 May 1891 at Lansingburgh, Rensselaer Co., NY, at age 100.⁴
     As of 23 February 1816,her married name was Powers.³

     William Ball was born on 5 April 1787 at NH.² He was the son of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ William Ball died before 1792.²

     John Ball was born on 12 November 1794 at Hebron, Grafton Co., NH.² He was the son of Nathaniel Ball and Sarah Nevins.¹ John Ball married Mary Thompson Webster, daughter of Arthur Webster and Ruth Powers, on 31 December 1849 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.^3,4 John Ball died on 5 February 1884 at Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, at age 89.³ He was buried at Fulton Street Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.⁵
     Before his marriage, which did not occur until he was nearly 60 years of age, he traveled extensively throughout this country and around the world. He died in 1884, age 90, leaving notes about his life and travels, from which his biography has been compiled by his daughters, Kate, Flora and Lucy.¹ As a member of Nathaniel Jarvis Wyeth's first expedition, in 1832 he traveled to the Oregon Country. While overwintering at Fort Vancouver from 1832–1833, he was employed by John McLoughlin to teach the children of the fort, thus becoming the region's first schoolteacher. In the spring of 1833, using seeds and tools supplied by McLoughlin, Ball and a friend traveled to the Salem, Oregon area and planted, raised and harvested a wheat crop, making him the first European to farm in the region. He returned via the Sandwich Islands and Cape Horn in 1833-34. In 1837 he settled at Grand Rapids, Michigan, and represented eastern capitalists in locating lands during the "wildcat banking" era. He also opened a law office and partnered with, among others, the Hon. George Martin, formerly Chief Justice of Michigan and Solomon Lewis Withey, late United States District Judge. He donated the land in Grand Rapids, Michigan that is now John Ball Park and John Ball Zoo.⁶ At the entrance to the John Ball zoo in Grand Rapids MI is a bronze depiction of John Ball based on an idea submitted by a local schoolgirl named Gertrude Van Houten.      William Ball was born on 23 November 1781.¹ He was the son of William Ball and Elizabeth Colburn.¹ William Ball was baptized in December 1781 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.² He died circa 1782 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.³ He was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.³

     William Ball was born circa 4 December 1782 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH; age at death 83y 8m 11d.¹ He was the son of William Ball and Elizabeth Colburn.² William Ball married Sally Lummus on 17 November 1805 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.³ William Ball died on 15 August 1866 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹

     Rebecca Kinney was born circa 1768 at NH.² She married William Ball, son of Ebenezer Ball and Sarah Gookin, on 7 December 1786 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.³ Rebecca Kinney died on 20 May 1851 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.⁴ She was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.⁴
     As of 7 December 1786,her married name was Ball.

     Abel Ball was born on 8 September 1787 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.² He was the son of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Abel Ball died on 23 May 1789 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 1.² He was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.²

     Amos Ball was born on 15 November 1789.¹ He was the son of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Amos Ball married Mary Kimball on 12 June 1814 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.² Amos Ball died on 7 September 1830 at Salem, Essex Co., MA, at age 40.³

     Rebecca Ball was born on 1 April 1791; twin of Elizabeth.¹ She was the daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Rebecca Ball married Timothy Colburn, son of Robert Colburn and Dorcas Upton, on 4 January 1809.¹ Rebecca Ball died on 5 June 1811 at Milford, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 20.^2,3 She was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.³
     As of 4 January 1809,her married name was Colburn.

     Abel Ball was born on 2 March 1794 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.^1,2 He was the son of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Abel Ball married Sarah Reed French, daughter of Silas French and Sarah Reed, on 23 March 1824 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.² Abel Ball died on 10 June 1841 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 47.² He was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.²

     Elizabeth Ball was born on 1 April 1791; twin of Rebecca.¹ She was the daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Elizabeth Ball married Timothy Colburn, son of Robert Colburn and Dorcas Upton, on 6 October 1812.¹ Elizabeth Ball died on 3 August 1840 at Milford, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 49.² She was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.²
     As of 6 October 1812,her married name was Colburn.

     Margaret Ball was born on 9 July 1796 at NH.¹ She was the daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ Margaret Ball married Amos Shattuck on 10 July 1817.¹
     As of 10 July 1817,her married name was Shattuck.

     James Ball was born on 4 July 1799 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.² He was the son of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹ James Ball married Sarah Stevens Cummings, daughter of Samuel Cummings, on 23 December 1847.¹ James Ball died on 8 September 1876 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH, at age 77.¹
     Sometime circa 1852 James Ball and Sarah Stevens Cummings adopted a son that thereafter went by the name of Henry Ball and a daughter that thereafter went by the name of Clara A. Ball.¹

     Hannah Ball was born on 15 November 1804.¹ She was the daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney.¹

     Timothy Colburn was born on 10 August 1778 at Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.² He was the son of Robert Colburn and Dorcas Upton.² Timothy Colburn married Mary Lovejoy, daughter of Daniel Lovejoy and Sarah Wyman, on 1 November 1804.² Timothy Colburn married Rebecca Ball, daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney, on 4 January 1809.¹ Timothy Colburn married Elizabeth Ball, daughter of William Ball and Rebecca Kinney, on 6 October 1812.¹ Timothy Colburn died on 12 August 1839 at age 61.² He was buried at Congregational Church Cemetery, Hollis, Hillsborough Co., NH.³
