     She may have been the Mary C. Ball that married John A. Pollitt 15 Aug 1875 in Fulton Co., IL, and were living at Banner, Fulton Co., IL, for the 1880 census with daughter Clara.

     Frank Henry Ball was born on 5 July 1862 at Liverpool, Fulton Co., IL.² He was the son of Franklin Ball and Mary E. Dickey.¹ Frank Henry Ball married Sarah Louise Brown, daughter of Hiram James Brown and Elizabeth Jane Casteel, on 1 December 1884 at Lewistown, Fulton Co., IL.¹ Frank Henry Ball died on 3 February 1949 at Canton, Fulton Co., IL, at age 86.¹ He was buried at Bethel-Turner Cemetery, Buckheart, Fulton Co., IL.¹

     Sarah Louise Brown was born on 31 March 1867 at Banner, Fulton Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of Hiram James Brown and Elizabeth Jane Casteel.¹ Sarah Louise Brown married Frank Henry Ball, son of Franklin Ball and Mary E. Dickey, on 1 December 1884 at Lewistown, Fulton Co., IL.¹ Sarah Louise Brown died on 2 August 1957 at Canton, Fulton Co., IL, at age 90.² She was buried at Bethel-Turner Cemetery, Buckheart, Fulton Co., IL.¹

     Gladys Emma Gibbs was born on 18 April 1906.¹ She married Harold Witherel Ball, son of Emmons A. Ball and Mae Florence Witherel, on 30 June 1930.¹ Gladys Emma Gibbs died on 4 January 1968 at Seneca, Oconee Co., SC, at age 61.¹
     As of 30 June 1930,her married name was Ball.¹

     Lawrence Ball is the son of Harold Witherel Ball and Gladys Emma Gibbs.¹

     Caroline Nicoll Moran was born on 21 April 1933 at New York, New York Co., NY.¹ She died on 9 April 2006 at Denver, CO, at age 72.¹
     As of 20 June 1957,her married name was Ball.¹

     He is thought to have been born about 1750, perhaps in Maryland, and spent some time in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. It is said that he was in the British Army and about 1775 deserted to join the Americans for the Revolution.²

     Joseph Hunter Ball was born say 1783; Comment by DGB: The estimate is based on the 1830 and 1840 censuses showing he was born between 1781 and 1790; more likely that range is between 1781 and 1785, making him at least 18 at his marriage. However, there exists a letter written by his daughter Malinda that states he was 74 at his death, which woudl imply a birth year circa 1770, but I favor the derivation from the earlier census records. The state of birth listed on his son Elijah's 1880 census was VA, but that census also shows Elijah's mother as born in VA, while her obituary lists her birth in TN. End of comment.^2,3 He was the son of William Matthew Ball.¹ Joseph Hunter Ball married Phebe Slaughter, daughter of John Slaughter and Sarah (????), on 6 January 1803 at Knox Co., KY.^1,4 Joseph Hunter Ball died in 1844 at Dade Co., MO.⁵ He was buried at Weir Cemetery, near Greenfield, MO.⁵
     Comment by DGB: yDNA tests of descendants of Joseph Hunter Ball indicate that he was a direct descendant of Edward Ball and Abigail Blatchley of Newark NJ. End of comment. He is said to have fought in the Black Hawk War. He was a blacksmith, Justice of the Peace and a teacher in 1832.⁵
