Pexton, son of George Pexton and Catherine Rivenburgh, circa 1883.³ Ella S. Ball died on 4 March 1915 at Sherrill, Oneida Co., NY, at age 55.²
     As of circa 1883,her married name was Pexton. From an obituary in the "Utica Observer": At her home in Sherrill yesterday occurred the death of Ella S. Ball, the beloved wife of Lorenzo R. Pexton. The news of her death brought sorrow to the entire community, where Mrs. Pexton had spent practically all of her life. She was born in this village, Sept. 3 1859 and was the daughter of Chester and Margaret McLean Ball. She attended the village school and later was graduated from Whilestown Academy and Houghton Seminary. Aug 18 1883 she was united in marriage to Lorenzo R. Pexton of this place and had always resided here until nearly two years ago when, for business convenience of Mr. Pexton, they removed to Sherrill. When a young girl she united with the Presbyterian Church here, and had always been one of its most active, faithful members. She was a charter member of the Christian Endeavor Society, a member of the Ladies' Aid Society, the Missionary Society and a teacher in the Sunday School as long as health permitted. She is grieved by her husband, her aged mother Mrs. Margaret Ball Alley who has made her home with her; one sister, Mrs. John E. Fellers of Newark; one brother, Rev. John C. Ball of Corning; a niece, Miss Margaret McCullough who for the past five years has lived in the home and filled the place of a daughter to Mrs. Pexton; one nephew, Albert McCullough of North Dakota, besides many other distant relatives and to all these, especially the immediate family is intended the heartfelt sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.²

     Rev. John Chester Ball was born on 11 November 1861 at Vernon Center, Oneida Co., NY.^2,1 He was the son of Chester A. Ball and Margaret McLean.² Rev. John Chester Ball married Mary Elizabeth Tracy on 25 May 1892.¹ Rev. John Chester Ball died on 14 March 1922 at Corning, Steuben Co., NY, at age 60.¹
     He was graduated from Oberlin College in 1889, with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He took his theological course in Auburn Seminary, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Divinity in 1892. With the exception of the three year period form 1904 to 1907, when he was President of Keuka College, N.Y., his entire life after graduation from the seminary was spent in the ministry of the Presbyterian Church, his various charges being in Pompey, NY, Utica, NY, Newark, NY, Corning, NY, and Oil City, PA.¹ He was a minister circa 1895 for the Presbyterian Church, Pompey Hill, Onondaga Co., NY.² Sometime after 1896 Rev. John Chester Ball and Mary Elizabeth Tracy adopted a son that then went by the name of Ralph Blackmar Ball and a daughter that then went by the name of Irene Ball.³

     Miriam M. Ball was born on 19 November 1864 at Oneida Co., NY.¹ She was the daughter of Chester A. Ball and Margaret McLean.¹ Miriam M. Ball married John E. Feller circa 1909.^2,3

     Dr. Albert James McCullough was born in February 1855 at CT.² He was the son of James McCullough and Katherine Tracy.¹ Dr. Albert James McCullough married Anna M. Ball, daughter of Chester A. Ball and Margaret McLean, circa 1883.³
     Dr. Albert James McCullough received his MD degree at New York University in 1880.¹

     Lorenzo R. Pexton was born on 29 June 1857 at NY.¹ He was the son of George Pexton and Catherine Rivenburgh.¹ Lorenzo R. Pexton married Ella S. Ball, daughter of Chester A. Ball and Margaret McLean, circa 1883.² Lorenzo R. Pexton married Flora Pettibone, daughter of Jared Chittenden Pettibone and Mary Ann Hawley, on 15 September 1917 at Vernon Center, Oneida Co., NY.¹ Lorenzo R. Pexton died in November 1941 at age 84.¹

     Sarah Ball was born circa 1828 at NH.¹ She was the daughter of Capt. Adonijah Ball and Anna Taft.¹
