G. S. Chamberlain. [in the Gazette and also in the Newfoundlander, Oct. 2, 1877]2 Mary Jane Meadus died on 19 March 1903 at Long Beach, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, at age 59.1 She was buried at Church of England Cemetery, Long Beach, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland; Headstone: "In loving memory of Mary Jane beloved wife of Nicholas Vey who died March 19, 1903 aged 59 years. In my full strength and midst of days. Death stepped in and stopped my ways. Just like a bud from off the tree. Death has parted you and me."3
