     Wendell Allen Ball was born on 31 May 1917 at Paw Paw, Van Buren Co., MI.^2,3 He was the son of Charles Edward Varney and Ruth Marion Ball.⁴ Wendell Allen Ball married Juanita Naomi Drake, daughter of Lloyd Burnette Drake and Mable May Reynolds, on 24 November 1938 at Paw Paw, Van Buren Co., MI.^5,1 Wendell Allen Ball died on 29 March 2013 at Montoursville, Lycoming Co., PA, at age 95.³
     From an obituary: Wendell A. Ball, 95, a resident of the Meadows Assisted Living Center in Montoursville, PA, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2013. His beloved wife for 74 years, Juanita Naomi, preceded him in death by seven weeks. Wendell was born in Paw Paw, Michigan on May 31, 1917. He was employed as a personnel manager by Ellingsworth Mfg., a subsidiary of Textron. Wendell was the visionary who created Eureka!, a property which is now part of the Southwestern Michigan Land Conservancy. Upon retirement, Wendell and Juanita traveled extensively before settling in southern Texas where he created his "Eureka Warm Home." In 2008, they moved to Pennsylvania to be near their family. Wendell was a 32nd degree Mason and he served in the Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of many conservation organizations in Michigan and was a pioneer in the field of environmental awareness. He will always be remembered for his wisdom, his passion for learning, and his love of nature and his family. Wendell is survived by three daughters: Wendy McCormick (Marty) of Jersey Shore, PA; Phylleri Ball (Gregory Pais) of Trout Run, PA; and Annette Ball (Tom Schneider) of Santa Rosa, CA. Five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters also survive.³

     Juanita Naomi Drake was born on 12 May 1919 at Arlington, Van Buren Co., MI.^3,4 She was the daughter of Lloyd Burnette Drake and Mable May Reynolds.⁴ Juanita Naomi Drake married Wendell Allen Ball, son of Charles Edward Varney and Ruth Marion Ball, on 24 November 1938 at Paw Paw, Van Buren Co., MI.^3,4 Juanita Naomi Drake died in February 2013 at Montoursville, Lycoming Co., PA, at age 93.²

     Zilla McMullen was born in July 1890 at MI.^1,2 She was the daughter of Hugh McMullen and Carrie Hunter.¹ Zilla McMullen married Harley Russell Ball, son of Horace Emory Ball and Nettie E. Parker, on 22 May 1911 at St. Joseph, Berrien Co., MI.¹ Zilla McMullen and Harley Russell Ball were divorced.³ Zilla McMullen died in May 1984 at age 93.⁴ She was buried at Saint Joseph City Cemetery, Saint Joseph, Berrien Co., MI.⁴
