     Norman Swain Edmonds was born on 19 July 1917 at McLouth, Jefferson Co., KS.^1,4 He was the son of Joseph Rowling Edmonds and Mabel Louise Swain.¹ Norman Swain Edmonds married Wanda Branham, daughter of John Branham and Meady Stroud, on 8 September 1940 at Independence, Jackson Co., MO.⁴ Norman Swain Edmonds died on 6 January 2008 at Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS, at age 90.⁴ He was buried at McLouth Cemetery, McLouth, Jefferson Co., KS.⁴
     From an obituary: Mr. Edmonds died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community. He was born July 19, 1917, in McLouth, the son of Joe and Mabel Swain Edmonds. He was a graduate of Kansas University, with a degree in business administration. Following his graduation from KU, he took over the family business, Edmonds Grocery and Frozen food Lockers. He retired in the 1970s. Mr. Edmonds served on the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission and the Lawrence school board. He enjoyed playing golf, and achieved three holes-in-one during his lifetime. He was a charter member of the Lawrence Country Club.
     He married Wanda Branham on Sept. 8, 1940, in Independence, Mo. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2005. Survivors include three sons, Steve and wife Chris, Joe and wife Liz, all of Lawrence, and Mark and partner Dwight Duncan, Escondido, Calif; five grandchildren, Jason, Lindsey, Allison and Adam Edmonds and Brynn Edmonds Burns; and five great-grandchildren.⁴      Photo courtesy of "mhesany."³

     Wanda Branham was born on 26 October 1918 at Higginsville, Lafayette Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of John Branham and Meady Stroud.¹ Wanda Branham married Norman Swain Edmonds, son of Joseph Rowling Edmonds and Mabel Louise Swain, on 8 September 1940 at Independence, Jackson Co., MO.¹ Wanda Branham died on 24 May 2005 at Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS, at age 86.¹ She was buried at McLouth Cemetery, McLouth, Jefferson Co., KS.¹
