     John Neil MacCrimmon was born on 2 December 1882 at Lochiel, Glengarry Co., ON, Canada.¹ He was the son of Norman MacCrimmon and Sarah Morrison. John Neil MacCrimmon married Isabel Manson Barton, daughter of William Barton and Mary Barr, on 21 October 1908 at Kirk Hill, Lochiel, Glengarry Co., ON, Canada.² John Neil MacCrimmon died on 31 July 1961 at Vankleek Hill, Prescott Co., ON, Canada, at age 78. He was buried at McLaughlin Cemetery, Glengarry Co., ON, Canada.³

     Isabel Manson Barton was born on 14 May 1887 at Lochiel, Glengarry Co., ON, Canada. She was the daughter of William Barton and Mary Barr. Isabel Manson Barton married John Neil MacCrimmon, son of Norman MacCrimmon and Sarah Morrison, on 21 October 1908 at Kirk Hill, Lochiel, Glengarry Co., ON, Canada.¹ Isabel Manson Barton died on 17 March 1960 at Vankleek Hill, Prescott Co., ON, Canada, at age 72.      George Franklin Ball was born on 9 April 1867 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT.^1,2 He was the son of Charles Wesley Ball and Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock. George Franklin Ball married Kate Ladd, daughter of Samuel Mower Ladd and Ann Gilman, on 30 July 1890 at Barre, Washington Co., VT.² George Franklin Ball died on 12 March 1941 at Barre, Washington Co., VT, at age 73.² He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington Co., VT.³

     Kate Ladd was born on 21 July 1871 at Post Mills, Orange Co., VT.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Mower Ladd and Ann Gilman. Kate Ladd married George Franklin Ball, son of Charles Wesley Ball and Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock, on 30 July 1890 at Barre, Washington Co., VT.² Kate Ladd died on 24 January 1966 at Natick, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 94. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington Co., VT.³

     Inella Eunice Ball was born on 27 March 1893 at North Thetford, Orange Co., VT.^1,2 She was the daughter of George Franklin Ball and Kate Ladd. Inella Eunice Ball married Alfred Ewen McKay, son of William McKay and Isabell Ewen, on 12 December 1923 at Barre, Washington Co., VT.² Inella Eunice Ball and Alfred Ewen McKay obtained a marriage license on 8 December 1923 at Barre, Washington Co., VT.¹ Inella Eunice Ball died on 5 May 1990 at Fair Haven, Rutland Co., VT, at age 97. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington Co., VT.³

     Eldon Wesley Ball was born on 14 January 1900 at Barre, Washington Co., VT.¹ He was the son of George Franklin Ball and Kate Ladd. Eldon Wesley Ball married Ivis Louise Morrill, daughter of John Ira Morrill and Augusta M. Dupuis, on 6 December 1934 at Montpelier, Washington Co., VT; A quiet wedding was solemnized in Bethany manse on Loomis Street, Montpelier, last evening about 7 o'clock when Miss Ivis Louise Morrill, daughter of Mrs. John Morrill of Tunbridge, became the bride of Eldon Wesley Ball of Barre, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Ball of 105 Hill street, in a single ring ceremony performed by Rev. J. W. Barnett. The couple had as attendants Miss Gertrude Nichols of Barre and Ralph Olliver, also of Barre. Following the ceremony, the bride and groom left by motor for a short wedding trip into northern New York state.

Since graduating from Montpelier seminary Mrs. Ball has been employed in Randolph and for several years in the Capital Savings Bank of Montpelier. She has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Gilman Bliss of Elm Street and has formed many friendships. She was the recipient of two showers recently, one given by Mrs. Howard Bliss and Mrs. Milford Fowler in Montpelier and one on Monday in Barre given by Miss Nichols. Mr. Ball, after his graduation from Spaulding High School, attended Bliss Electrical College and graduated as an electrical engineer. He is now employed as instructor in the camp at East Barre.

On their return they will reside at 171 Church Street in Barre, where they have taken an apartment and will resume their positions. They have many friends in the two cities who wish them happiness in their married life.² Eldon Wesley Ball died in November 1979 at age 79. He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington Co., VT.³

     Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock was born on 8 April 1838 at Peacham, Caledonia Co., VT; age at death 78 years, 8 months, 17 days.¹ She was the daughter of Luther Wheatley Hitchcock and Lillias Mariah Dunbar. Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock married Curtiss Dwinnel on 9 March 1858 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT. Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock married Charles Wesley Ball, son of Levi Ball and Mary Norcross, on 2 December 1862 at Plainfield, Washington Co., VT.² Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock died on 25 December 1917 at Barre, Washington Co., VT, at age 79.¹ She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington Co., VT.³

     Samuel Mower Ladd was born on 8 December 1828 at Sharon, Windsor Co., VT. He was the son of Alfred Ladd and Sarah Cook. Samuel Mower Ladd married Ann Gilman, daughter of Lewis Gilman and Lucia Ann Shipman, on 12 November 1855 at Thetford, Orange Co., VT. Samuel Mower Ladd died on 18 July 1899 at North Thetford, Orange Co., VT, at age 70.

     Ann Gilman was born on 15 July 1836 at Hardwick, Caledonia Co., VT. She was the daughter of Lewis Gilman and Lucia Ann Shipman. Ann Gilman married Samuel Mower Ladd, son of Alfred Ladd and Sarah Cook, on 12 November 1855 at Thetford, Orange Co., VT. Ann Gilman died on 11 February 1894 at North Thetford, Orange Co., VT, at age 57.

     Mary P. Ellis was born on 9 May 1801 at VT; age at death 63 years, 2 months, 5 days. She married Levi Ball, son of Ezekiel Ball and Nancy Tilton, on 3 June 1843. Mary P. Ellis died on 14 July 1864 at East Montpelier, Washington Co., VT, at age 63. She was buried at South Woodbury Cemetery, Woodbury, Washington Co., VT.¹

     Curtiss Dwinnel was born on 28 January 1830. He married Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock, daughter of Luther Wheatley Hitchcock and Lillias Mariah Dunbar, on 9 March 1858 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT. Curtiss Dwinnel died on 28 March 1860 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT, at age 30.

     George Adelbert Dwinnel was born on 6 March 1859 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT. He was the son of Curtiss Dwinnel and Sarah Lucretia Hitchcock. George Adelbert Dwinnel died on 23 March 1860 at Cabot, Washington Co., VT, at age 1.

     Levi Ball was born on 29 July 1803 at Woodbury, Washington Co., VT; age at death 69 years, 1 months, 9 days. He was the son of Ezekiel Ball and Nancy Tilton. Levi Ball married Mary Norcross, daughter of Noah Norcross and Fanny Rollins, on 27 January 1826. Levi Ball married Mary P. Ellis on 3 June 1843. Levi Ball married Betsey E. Hersey, daughter of Nathaniel Stone Hersey and Asenith Slayton, on 11 October 1864 at Calais, Washington Co., VT.¹ Levi Ball died on 7 September 1872 at East Montpelier, Washington Co., VT, at age 69. Mary Norcross married Levi Ball, son of Ezekiel Ball and Nancy Tilton, on 27 January 1826. Mary Norcross died on 31 January 1843 at Woodbury, Washington Co., VT.

     Luther Wheatley Hitchcock was born on 8 June 1806 at Peacham, Caledonia Co., VT. He was the son of Elias Hitchcock and Margaret McLinn. Hersey married Walter Dailey on 18 September 1859 at Montpelier, Washington Co., VT. Betsey E. Hersey and Walter Dailey were divorced in 1861; adultery; libelant was wife. Betsey E. Hersey married Levi Ball, son of Ezekiel Ball and Nancy Tilton, on 11 October 1864 at Calais, Washington Co., VT.¹ Betsey E. Hersey married Sanford Slocum on 11 October 1876 at Morristown, Lamoille Co., VT.² Betsey E. Hersey died on 17 May 1915 at Hardwick, Caledonia Co., VT, at age 81.

     Phylura A. Ball was born on 11 January 1827 at Woodbury, Washington Co., VT; age at death 46 years, 10 months, 23 days.¹ She was the daughter of Levi Ball and Mary Norcross. Phylura A. Ball married Calvin Lyford, son of Peter Lyford and Lois Blanchard, on 23 February 1856 at East Montpelier, Washington Co., VT.² Phylura A. Ball died on 4 December 1873 at Woodbury, Washington Co., VT, at age 46. She was buried at South Woodbury Cemetery, Woodbury, Washington Co., VT.³
     The "mill girls", who were generally between the ages of 15 and 30, were the very first workers in the textile mills. These individuals lived in boarding houses and worked six days a week. Mill work was not an easy lifestyle to be involved with when it came to working conditions. The air was extremely humid and workers worked on their feet for approximately fourteen hours a day. The main advantage to working in the mills, as opposed to other work at this time, was that one's salary was paid in cash every week rather than using a barter credit system. As of 23 February 1856,her married name was Lyford.
