     Her married name was Cheney.² Comment by DGB: There was a marriage in 1785 in Haverhill MA between a Betsey Marsh and a John Cheney, Jr. that would be a possibility, but more investigation is needed. End of comment. As of 26 May 1793,her married name was Ball.

     Rev. Mason Ball was born on 20 September 1797 at MA.¹ He was the son of Jonah Ball and Betsey (????)¹ Rev. Mason Ball married Orinda Rogers on 1 July 1834.¹ Rev. Mason Ball died on 16 November 1873 at age 76.¹

     Sophia Manning was born circa 1797 at Sterling, Worcester Co., MA.¹ She married Josiah Ball, son of Captain Jotham Ball and Annatia Cheney, on 5 April 1813 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² Sophia Manning died on 10 January 1837 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA; listed as died 11 Jan 1837 on the gravestone.³
     As of 5 April 1813,her married name was Ball.

     Josiah Ball was born on 4 July 1814.¹ He was the son of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Josiah Ball died on 5 October 1814.¹

     Jonas Ball was born on 26 November 1815.¹ He was the son of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Jonas Ball married Calista Phelps on 12 June 1837 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.²

     Sophia Ball was born on 16 January 1818.¹ She was the daughter of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹

     Harriet Wheelock Ball was born on 8 January 1820.¹ She was the daughter of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Harriet Wheelock Ball married Levi Smith, son of Levi Smith, on 5 September 1840 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² Harriet Wheelock Ball died on 29 July 1875 at age 55.¹
     As of 5 September 1840,her married name was Smith.²

     Simon Ball was born on 27 June 1822 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Simon Ball married Louisa Ann Lockhart, daughter of John Lockhart and Emily R. (????), on 2 January 1856 at Perry Co., AL; "Ann."²

     Mary E. Ball was born on 15 April 1824.² She was the daughter of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.² Mary E. Ball married Lewis C. Champney, son of Ebenezer Champney and Mehitabel (????), on 18 April 1846 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.¹

     Israel Manning Ball was born on 23 April 1826 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Israel Manning Ball married Mary Dickerman Newton, daughter of Lemuel D. Newton and Sarah Fessenden, on 28 November 1850 at Boylston, Worcester Co., MA.³ Israel Manning Ball died on 29 January 1913 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA, at age 86.⁴
     They resided in West Boylston and Holden. He was a manufacturer of brick, ran a saw-mill and had a lumber business. Later he became associated with his son in the manufacture of brooms under the firm name of I.M. Ball & Son, which he continued until 1885.¹

     Melinda Ann Ball was born on 2 February 1828 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Josiah Ball and Sophia Manning.¹ Melinda Ann Ball died on 6 January 1887 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA, at age 58; "Malinda."²

     Almira Fales was born on 10 February 1800 at Pelham, Hampshire Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Sewell Fales and Lois (????)¹ Almira Fales married Josiah Ball, son of Captain Jotham Ball and Annatia Cheney, on 7 August 1837 at Pelham, Hampshire Co., MA; "Almira Fales."¹ Almira Fales and Josiah Ball posted marriage intentions on 7 July 1837 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA; "Almira Fales."² Almira Fales died on 27 April 1883 at age 83.³
     As of circa 1838,her married name was Ball.

     Jennie E. Ball was born on 22 July 1839 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Josiah Ball and Almira Fales.¹ Jennie E. Ball married Asel H. Drake, son of Asel Drake and Olive (????), on 3 January 1869 at Foxborough, Norfolk Co., MA.²
     As of 3 January 1869,her married name was Drake.²

     Josiah Warren Ball was born on 28 June 1841 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Josiah Ball and Almira Fales.¹ Josiah Warren Ball married Elisabeth B. Farrington.¹
     He enlisted in the Civil War, was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, served until April, 1865 when was honorably discharged. He returned home, studied dentistry under Tourtelotte of Worcester and afterward for three years in the office of his brother, Dr. Simon BALL, in Marion, Alabama. He then returned to Boston and graduated from the Boston Dental School in its first class in 1870.¹

     Mary Cheney was born circa 1798.² She married Jonas Ball, son of Captain Jotham Ball and Annatia Cheney, in 1818.¹
     She was listed as "Mary Johnson" on the death record of son Gardner.³ As of 1818,her married name was Ball.

     Charles Judson Ball was born on 15 February 1820 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.¹ Charles Judson Ball and Arminda Esther Wilson posted marriage intentions on 11 April 1846 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.³ Charles Judson Ball died on 9 March 1858 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA, at age 38.⁴

     Diah Ball was born on 1 February 1822 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.³ Diah Ball married Caroline R. Quint on 14 July 1846 at Thompson, Windham Co., CT.⁴ Diah Ball died on 26 October 1887 at age 65.³

     Elmira Ann Ball was born on 6 May 1825 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² She was the daughter of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.¹ Elmira Ann Ball married George R. Henry on 12 March 1844 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA; "Almira A. Ball."³
     As of 12 March 1844,her married name was Henry.

     Mary Eliza Ball was born on 3 September 1827 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² She was the daughter of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.¹

     Gardner Leander Ball was born on 3 May 1831 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.¹ Gardner Leander Ball married Julia A. M. Dutton, daughter of Asa Dutton and Lucretia (????), say 1853.¹ Gardner Leander Ball married Julia E. B. Scribner, daughter of Lucius Scribner and Eveline A. (????), on 31 January 1877 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA; also recorded at Boylston.^3,4 Gardner Leander Ball died on 29 March 1913 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA, at age 81; "Leander Gardner."⁵

     Oscar Cheney Ball was born on 24 April 1834 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.¹ Oscar Cheney Ball married Bessie Sawtelle.¹ Oscar Cheney Ball died on 13 July 1904 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA, at age 70.³ He was buried on 15 July 1904 at Grove Cemetery, Holden, Worcester Co., MA.³

     Julia A. Ball was born in June 1835 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA.^2,1 She was the daughter of Jonas Ball and Mary Cheney.^1,2 Julia A. Ball married William W. Pratt, son of Charles S. Pratt, on 10 June 1854 at Leominster, Worcester Co., MA.¹
     As of 10 June 1854,her married name was Pratt.

     Elizabeth Ball was born circa 1840.¹ She was the daughter of Jonas Ball and Calista Phelps.¹
