     William Ball was born circa 1832 at RI.² He was the son of Joshua Ball and Dorcas Ball.¹ William Ball died before 1854 of consumption.³

     Abel Ball was born circa 1834.² He was the son of Joshua Ball and Dorcas Ball.¹ Abel Ball died before 1854 of consumption.³

     Simeon A. Ball was born on 7 January 1838 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.^2,3 He was the son of Joshua Ball and Dorcas Ball.¹ Simeon A. Ball married Mary D. Clarke, daughter of Perry Clarke and Penelope (????), on 10 March 1859 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.⁴ Simeon A. Ball married Emma Grafton King, daughter of David King and Eliza Bennett, circa 1872.⁵ Simeon A. Ball died on 24 August 1919 at RI at age 81.⁶ He was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.⁶

     George A. Ball was born on 10 January 1846 at RI.² He was the son of Joshua Ball and Dorcas Ball.³ George A. Ball died on 28 September 1863 at RI at age 17.² He was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.⁴

     Peter Peckham was born circa 1753.² He was the son of James Peckham and Sarah Greene.² Peter Peckham married Elizabeth Ball, daughter of Edward Ball and Mary Dodge, on 15 April 1787.² Peter Peckham died on 28 August 1828.²

     Margaret Ball was born circa 1763.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Ball and Mary Dodge.¹

     Abel Ball was the son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹ Abel Ball married Nancy Paine.¹

     Nancy Paine married Abel Ball, son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹
     Her married name was Ball.

     Samuel Ball was born circa 1778 at RI.¹ He was the son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹ Samuel Ball married Margaret Mitchell, daughter of Alexander Mitchell and Dorcas (????).¹

     Margaret Mitchell was the daughter of Alexander Mitchell and Dorcas (????)² Margaret Mitchell married Samuel Ball, son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹
     Margaret Mitchell was also known as Peggy. Her married name was Ball.

     Peter Ball was born circa 1780 at RI.^1,2 He was the son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹ Peter Ball married Naomi (????) on 13 November 1837 at Oaksville, Otsego Co., NY.¹ Peter Ball died circa 1860 at Exeter, Otsego Co., NY, age about 80.^1,3
     Comment by DGB: There is some confusion around Peter Ball. If one just looks at the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses for Exeter, Otsego Co., NY, one finds a Peter Ball with a first wife of similar age in 1820 and 1830, and a second wife some 15-20 years younger for the 1840 census. This latter event matches a marriage in Otsego Co. NY in 1837 between a Peter Ball and a Mrs. Naomi Fish. It would appear that over the years this Exeter NY Peter Ball had at least six daughters and two sons; the data on the five known daughters for the Peter Ball of Rhode Island can be made to match.
     For some of the censuses there were two other similar age Ball families (Joseph in 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850 and William in 1820). The Peter Ball, son of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims, did not have brothers named either Joseph or William that could be these neighbors. That Peter did have a cousin Joseph S. (son of John Ball and Fidelia Littleford) that is probably the Joseph Ball also at Exeter NY in 1850 at age 82 and born Rhode Island; however, the age in 1850 would have been a couple years older than shown for the Joseph in 1830 (age 50-59, rather than 62). That Peter Ball's brother Joshua did have a son William that left Block Island RI as an early age and nothing is known about him; perhaps he was the William Ball on the 1820 census.
     The problem is that there is no concrete connection between the Peter Ball, son of Peter and Elizabeth Ball of Block Island RI, and the Peter Ball living at Exeter NY. Nor is there evidence that either Peter Ball or his family still was living in the Exeter NY area for either the 1850 or 1860 censuses; yet, that Peter Ball was supposed to have lived there until about age 80 according to his card in the Druse collection. End of comment.

     Comment by DGB: This may be the Naomi Ball buried in the Fly Creek Village Cemetery, Fly Creek, Otsego Co., NY (died 13 March 1844, age 50) in the same plot as Anna (Woodward) Babbitt (13 March 1884, age 40 years), wife of Daniel Babbitt. End of comment.² Her married name was Fish. As of 13 November 1837,her married name was Ball.

     Sarah Ball was the daughter of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹
     Her married name was Mitchell.

     Elizabeth Ball was born on 7 October 1798.¹ She was the daughter of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹ Elizabeth Ball married John Willis, son of Abel Willis.¹ Elizabeth Ball died on 13 April 1878 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI, at age 79; in about her 84th year.¹
     Her married name was Dodge. Her married name was Willis.

     Mark Dodge is the son of Mark Dodge and Penelope (????)²

     John Willis was the son of Abel Willis.² John Willis married Elizabeth Ball, daughter of Peter Ball and Elizabeth Sims.¹ John Willis died before 1878.²
