     He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church circa 1936 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE.¹ From an obituary: “Ransom R. Armstrong was born Nov 2, 1881 near Springfield, Neb. the second of seven children born to Elza and Julia Armstrong, and passed to his rest August 3, l962 in Lincoln, Nebraska. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death. When he was twelve years of age the family moved from Springfield to Texas, where they lived for nine years before returning to Springfield. It was while living in Springfield that Mr. Armstrong learned the painter's trade which he followed during his active years. He later moved to Lincoln to work at his trade. In the fall of 1936 he attended evangelistic meetings held by Elder Cardey. He believed and accepted the Biblical truths presented and was baptized and became a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. While attending these meetings he met Ruth Adams whom he married two years later, Nov 9, 1938. Following their marriage Mr. Armstrong transferred his church membership to College View where his love for the message and his faithfulness to the church remained firm until his death. There were no children born to Mr and Mrs. Armstrong, but they derived much happiness and satisfaction from caring for children who were lonely and seeking a home. Left with loving memories of his kindness and tenderness are his wife Ruth: three sisters; Mrs. Bessie Martin, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Vinnie Mester, Colton, Ca. Mrs. Olive Wilcox, Colton, Ca. and aunt, Mrs. Bessie Ball, Lincoln, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends and kind neighbors. Bro. Armstrong passed to his rest confident in the promise of eternal life in the earth made new where there will be no sickness, death, or sorrow, which will be given to the faithful when Jesus returns to the earth.”.¹

     Grover Cleveland Armstrong was born on 9 April 1885 at Holt Co., NE.¹ He was the son of Elza Coffee Armstrong and Julia Etta Ball.¹ Grover Cleveland Armstrong married Viola Carpenter on 25 June 1919 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ Grover Cleveland Armstrong died on 7 July 1937 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE, at age 52.¹
     From an obituary: “The deceased was born in Holt County, Nebraska, April 9,1885 and died in Springfield, Nebraska, July 7, 1937, his age being at the time of his death 52 years, 2 months, 219 days. Death came with no warning. After a few years residence in Texas he came with his parents to Springfield in 1904 and this has been his home ever since. He was an Infantile Paralytic since the age of 5 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola M. Carpenter, June 25, 1919, and to this union one son was born who died in infancy. His mother died in 1925. Surviving besides his bereaved widow are his aged father, Elza Armstrong, and his step mother of Lincoln, three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Anderson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Vinnie Mester, of Lincoln and Mrs. Olive Wilcox of Louisville, two brothers Ransom of Lincoln and Roy of Little Sioux, Iowa. There are also 5 nephews and 3 nieces. He accepted Christ early in life, was baptized and united with the Advent Christian Church, then an active organization in Springfield. Grover Armstrong was a Christian in every sense of the word. He was a devoted husband and loved his home. In his every day walk he adhered strictly to the Golden Rule. Rev. Rush conducted the funeral services at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, with Leslie McCamley singing three solos, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Mabel Schobert. Pallberers were Messrs. John Harder, Henry Essert, Henry Gottsch, William Glesmann and Gerald MacGowan.”.¹

     Bessie Armstrong was born on 31 March 1887 at Sarpy Co., NE.¹ She was the daughter of Elza Coffee Armstrong and Julia Etta Ball.¹ Bessie Armstrong married Chris Anderson in 1909 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., IA.¹ Bessie Armstrong died on 31 October 1966 at age 79.¹
     Her married name was Martin.¹ As of 1909,her married name was Anderson.¹

     Roy Armstrong was born on 2 January 1889 at Plattsmouth, Cass Co., NE.¹ He was the son of Elza Coffee Armstrong and Julia Etta Ball.¹ Roy Armstrong married Grace Lane on 8 May 1908 at Sarpy Co., NE.¹ Roy Armstrong died on 3 October 1938 at Little Sioux, Harrison Co., IA, at age 49.¹ He was buried on 6 October 1938 at Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Monona Co., IA.¹
     From an obituary: "Roy Armstrong was born at Plattsmouth, Nebraska, on January 2, 1889, and passed from this life in his home in Sioux City on Friday evening, October 3 1958. He was united in marriage with Grace Lane on May 8, 1908. To this union was born three children. She preceded him in death January 29, 1931. Later he was united in marriage with Goldie Livermore at Lincoln, Nebraska. To this union one son was born.

“He is survived by his wife, Goldie, of Sioux City: three sons, Gerald of Long Beach, Calif., George of Onawa and Roy Jr., of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, a few other relatives and a number of friends. His one daughter, Luella Mae preceded him in death on June 13, 1921.

“Funeral services were conducted at the graveside in the Onawa cemetery with Everett Epperson in charge on Monday, October 6th, at 1:00 PM. Manning-Otool Funeral Home of Sioux City in Charge."¹
