Selfridge, on 16 June 1858 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.¹ Roxanna Wooley died on 2 June 1920 at Aurora, Marion Co., OR, at age 79.^1,3 She was buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, OR.¹

     Louisa Eliza Higby was born on 27 December 1840 at Winfield, DuPage Co., IL; Comment by DGB: 27 Dec 1841 on death record, but census records all support 1840. End of comment.^1,3 She was the daughter of Harvey Higby and Eliza Ann Ainsworth.⁴ Louisa Eliza Higby married John S. Ball, son of Alvin Ball and Eunice F. Selfridge, on 31 March 1864 at Winfield, DuPage Co., IL.⁴ Louisa Eliza Higby died on 19 July 1918 at Frankfort, Franklin Co., KY, at age 77; "Louise E."³ She was buried at Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, Kane Co., IL.^1,5

     Sarah Lyon was born on 22 February 1848 at Aurora, IL.¹ She married Theodore Timothy Ball, son of Alvin Ball and Eunice F. Selfridge, on 27 February 1866 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.² Sarah Lyon died on 20 January 1929 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE, at age 80.¹ She was buried at Ball Cemetery, Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹

     Francis Felts Whitehorn was born on 10 May 1864 at Jackson, Clarke Co., IA.¹ He married Kathryn May Ball, daughter of Silas Sanford Ball and Charlotte Adair, on 4 July 1887 at Shamrock, Boyd Co., NE.¹ Francis Felts Whitehorn died on 1 May 1929 at Valley, Douglas Co., NE, at age 64.¹

     Alvin Vanduser was born circa August 1812 at NY.^2,3 He was the son of Henry Vandusen.⁴ Alvin Vanduser married Mary Ball, daughter of James Rose Ball and Elizabeth Ewer, circa 1835 at Freedom, Cattaraugus Co., NY.⁵ Alvin Vanduser died on 26 February 1878.³ He was buried at East Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, Kane Co., IL.³

     Mary E. Vanduser was born circa 1836 at Freedom, Cattaraugus Co., NY.² She was the daughter of Alvin Vanduser and Mary Ball.²

     Alvin Ball was born on 3 March 1861 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.¹ He was the son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley.¹ Alvin Ball married Emma Jane Nicholson, daughter of John Riley Nicholson and Zerelda Jane Stewart, on 28 December 1890 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ Alvin Ball died on 19 July 1941 at Corvallis, Benton Co., OR, at age 80.^1,2 He was buried on 23 July 1941 at IOOF Cemetery, Corvallis, Benton Co., OR.¹
     From an obituary in the "Corvallis Gazette-Times": "Alvin Ball Services To Be Wednesday. Alvin Ball, aged 80 years and a resident of Corvallis since 1912, passed away at his home, 2019 Van Buren Street at 3:35 p.m. Saturday. The son of James R. and Roxanna Wooley Ball, he was born near Batavia, Illinois, March 11, 1861. When only 12 years of age he moved with his parents to Sarpy County near Springfield, in same state where he completed his education. It was there also that he was united in marriage to Miss Emma J. Nicholson, December 28, 1890, who survives; Mr. and Mrs. Ball celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last December. In 1920 they came west to Oregon, locating first at Woodburn, but two years later they came to Corvallis, where they have since resided. In earlier years Mr. Ball engaged in construction work and blacksmithing. He had been an active member of the Christian Church since 1906 and since residing in Corvallis had been affiliated with the local congregation of that denomination. He had also been an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for more than 51 years. Last year he was presented with a '50-year jewel' for long and faithful membership in the order by Barnum Lodge No. 7, I.O.O.F. of Corvallis. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Roy Mason Ball, Great Falls, Montana; a sister, Mrs. Vira Glade, Molalla; two brothers, Edwin and Elias J. Ball, both of Mulino, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. The remains are at the Keeney Funeral Home and funeral services will be held in their chapel, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Clarence Reynolds, pastor of the First Christian Church of Corvallis will officiate and interment will be in the family plot in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.      Edwin Robert Ball was born in November 1864 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.¹ He was the son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley.¹ Edwin Robert Ball married Mary L. Evans, daughter of Benjamin Evans and Sarah (????), on 31 May 1892 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ Edwin Robert Ball married Estella B. Bevens, daughter of Erastus Bevens and Martha C. Vance, on 16 June 1906 at Hubbard, Marion Co., OR.² Edwin Robert Ball died on 12 December 1947 at Mulino, Clackamas Co., OR, at age 83.³

     Elias James Ball was born on 21 March 1869 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.² He was the son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley.¹ Elias James Ball married Elizabeth A. Bradley, daughter of Sampson D. Bradley, circa 1916 at OR.³ Elias James Ball died on 31 July 1953 at Aurora, Marion Co., OR, at age 84.^1,4 He was buried on 3 August 1953 at IOOF Cemetery, Aurora, Marion Co., OR.¹
     From an obituary: "Elias J. Ball, resident of Molalla, Oregon for many years, died in a local nursing home Friday morning after an extended illness. Mr. Ball was born in Illinois on March 21, 1869 and lived in the east until coming to Oregon in 1905. He had lived near Molalla most of the time since coming west. His wife, the former Elizabeth Armstrong, preceded him in death in June 1941. Surviving are five stepchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.      Charles H. Ball was born in August 1883 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ He was the son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley.¹ Charles H. Ball married Olive May Armstrong, daughter of John W. Armstrong and Elizabeth A. Bradley, on 26 November 1910 at Aurora, Marion Co., OR.¹ Charles H. Ball died on 20 May 1913 at Corvallis, Benton Co., OR, at age 29.¹ He was buried on 23 May 1913 at IOOF Cemetery, Aurora, Marion Co., OR.¹
     From an obituary in the "Springfield Monitor" (Nebraska): "Relatives in this vicinity have received word of the death of Charles Ball at Corvallis Oregon. Mr. Ball was a railroad laborer, was electrocuted by a live wire. He was about 25 years of age and a son of J. R. Ball, an old resident of Plattford Precinct. Mr. Ball accidentally came in contact with a live trolley wire hidden in the timber along the right-of-way and was killed instantly."¹

     As of 28 December 1890,her married name was Ball.¹ From an obituary in the "Corvallis Gazette-Times" (Oregon): "Mrs. Emma Jane Nicholson Ball, resident of 2019 Van Buren street where she had lived since 1912, died at her home Thursday evening. She had been ill some time. Mrs. Ball was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nicholson and was born in Sarpy County, Nebraska, February 18, 1868. She attended schools there and on December 28, 1890 was married in Springfield, Nebraska, to Alvin Ball. Mr. and Mrs. Ball came to Oregon in 1910 and spent two years at Woodburn before coming to Corvallis. Mr. Ball died in 1941. Mrs. Ball was a member of the Christian Church, the College Hill branch of the W.C.T.U. and Alpha Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are one son, Roy Mason Ball of Great Falls, Montana, and two brothers, Thomas Nicholson of Springfield, Nebraska, and George Nicholson, Papillion, Nebraska. The remains are in the Keeney Funeral Home where plans are being made for the final rites."³

     Mary L. Evans was born on 22 March 1876 at Sarpy Co., NE.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Evans and Sarah (????)² Mary L. Evans married Edwin Robert Ball, son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley, on 31 May 1892 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ Mary L. Evans died on 22 January 1896 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE, at age 19.¹
     As of 31 May 1892,her married name was Ball.¹

     John Glade was born on 29 March 1868 at Sheffield, Henry Co., IL.¹ He was the son of Michael Glade and Christina Meisenheimer.² John Glade married Elvira Eunice Ball, daughter of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley, on 4 February 1891 at Springfield, Sarpy Co., NE.¹ John Glade died on 6 October 1931 at Fontanelle, Adair Co., IA, at age 63.¹ He was buried on 10 October 1931 at Iowa Cemetery, Brooks, Adams Co., IA.¹

     Olive May Armstrong was born in November 1893 at NE.² She was the daughter of John W. Armstrong and Elizabeth A. Bradley.³ Olive May Armstrong married Charles H. Ball, son of James Robert Ball and Roxanna Wooley, on 26 November 1910 at Aurora, Marion Co., OR.¹ Olive May Armstrong married Leo W. Hayes circa 1917.⁴
     Olive May Armstrong also went by the name of Ollie.¹ As of 26 November 1910,her married name was Ball.¹ As of circa 1917,her married name was Hayes.⁴

     Viola Ball was born on 25 January 1864 at Weaton, DuPage Co., IL; age at death 1y 0m 20d.^2,3 She was the daughter of John S. Ball and Louisa Eliza Higby.¹ Viola Ball died on 13 February 1865 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL, at age 1; Comment by DGB: The gravestone is badly weathered and is lying on the ground making the year of death hard to read. Some researchers have read the death year as 1862, but the death entry for Viola in the White family Bible clearly shows death in 1865. End of comment.³ She was buried at East Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, Kane Co., IL.²

     Wallace Harvey Ball was born on 18 October 1868 at Batavia, Kane Co., IL.² He was the son of John S. Ball and Louisa Eliza Higby.³ Wallace Harvey Ball married Cora A. Proctor, daughter of Charles Henry Proctor and Diadama A. Strong, on 10 September 1891 at Independence, Buchanan Co., IA.² Wallace Harvey Ball died on 3 October 1939 at West Chicago, DuPage Co., IL, at age 70.¹ He was buried at Glen Oak Cemetery, West Chicago, DuPage Co., IL.⁴

White and Sarah P. Finney, on 9 June 1889 at Independence, Buchanan Co., IA.^4,2 Estella E. Ball died on 19 March 1937 at Franklin Co., KY, at age 65.¹
