Hendrick circa 1905.⁴ Mildred Helen Wilson died on 10 December 1951 at age 77.¹

     Ora Otis Ball was born on 4 October 1872 at Spicerville, Eaton Co., MI.¹ He was the son of Cephas Parson Ball and Lydia Elizabeth Filley.¹ Ora Otis Ball married Mildred Helen Wilson on 1 March 1896 at MI.¹ Ora Otis Ball and Mildred Helen Wilson were divorced circa 1904.¹ Ora Otis Ball married Grace Elizabeth Swezey, daughter of Walter Townsend Swezey and Elizabeth Ella Yike, on 24 October 1905 at Fifield, Price Co., WI.² Ora Otis Ball married Bertha Irtrude Adams, daughter of William Blair Adams and Mary Ellen Kuhn, on 26 September 1923.² Ora Otis Ball died on 12 July 1936 at Fifield, Price Co., WI, at age 63.^1,3

     Lydia Elizabeth Filley was born on 10 June 1852 at MI.^2,3 She was the daughter of Terry M. Filley and Hannah Bradford.⁴ Lydia Elizabeth Filley married Cephas Parson Ball, son of Daniel Ball and Diantha Clara Clark, on 26 October 1869 at TN.¹ Lydia Elizabeth Filley died on 30 April 1907 at Elmira, Otsego Co., MI, at age 54.⁵

     Cephas Parson Ball was born on 5 October 1836 at MI; a birth date of 4 Oct 1834 has been quoted, but the year does not agree with censuses of 1840, 1850, 1860, and 1880.^1,2,3 He was the son of Daniel Ball and Diantha Clara Clark.¹ Cephas Parson Ball married Susan E. Tichner, daughter of Sargent Tichner and Rose (????), on 11 May 1856 at Eaton Co., MI.¹ Cephas Parson Ball married Lydia Elizabeth Filley, daughter of Terry M. Filley and Hannah Bradford, on 26 October 1869 at TN.¹ Cephas Parson Ball died on 30 March 1898 at Elmira, Otsego Co., MI, at age 61; Comment by DGB: The MI death index record for Cephas Ball lists his mother as "Mary", but that same index lists Joseph Ball, the older brother of Cephas as having Diantha as mother, which conflicts, since Diantha is still living with Daniel and his sons on the 1850 census. End of comment.⁴ He was buried at Hallock Cemetery, Gaylord, Otsego Co., MI.¹

     Daniel Monroe Ball was born on 26 July 1877 at Grass Lake, Jackson Co., MI.¹ He was the son of Cephas Parson Ball and Lydia Elizabeth Filley.¹ Daniel Monroe Ball married Clara Alta Wilbur, daughter of John Harrison Wilbur and Emma Shears, on 16 June 1901 at Elmira, Otsego Co., MI.¹ Daniel Monroe Ball died on 12 February 1953 at age 75.² He was buried at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., MI.³

     Edna Arlene Casler was born on 8 April 1892 at Charlotte, Eaton Co., MI.¹ She was the daughter of John Charles Casler and Irena Diantha Ball.¹ Edna Arlene Casler married Roy Parsons Ball, son of Ora Otis Ball and Mildred Helen Wilson, on 11 June 1922 at Ingham Co., MI.¹ Edna Arlene Casler died on 22 March 1933 at Pontiac, Oakland Co., MI, at age 40.²
     As of 11 June 1922,her married name was Ball.¹ From an obituary: Mrs. Edna Ball, 41 years old, died Wednesday night in General Hospital from infection following the birth of a child nearly three weeks ago. She lived at 110 Campbell Street. Mrs. Ball was admitted to the Hospital March 14 when a visiting nurse found her suffering at her home. She is survived by her husband Roy and several children besides the recently born child who is being cared for at he Hospital.³

     Irena Diantha Ball was born on 24 June 1858 at MI.^1,2 She was the daughter of Cephas Parson Ball and Susan E. Tichner.¹ Irena Diantha Ball married John Charles Casler, son of Henry Casler and Julia Ann Hotchkiss, on 24 October 1876 at First United Episcopal Church, Eaton, Eaton Co., MI.¹ Irena Diantha Ball died on 17 November 1925 at West Branch, Ogemaw Co., MI, at age 67.¹

     Lewis Clyde Ball was born on 9 August 1902 at MI.² He was the son of Ora Otis Ball and Mildred Helen Wilson.¹ Lewis Clyde Ball married Grace Ruth Dietzel on 28 September 1932.¹ Lewis Clyde Ball died on 1 February 1992 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI, at age 89.^1,2

     John Charles Casler was born in December 1849 at MI.² He was the son of Henry Casler and Julia Ann Hotchkiss.¹ John Charles Casler married Irena Diantha Ball, daughter of Cephas Parson Ball and Susan E. Tichner, on 24 October 1876 at First United Episcopal Church, Eaton, Eaton Co., MI.³

     Mina May Ball was born on 14 January 1904 at MI.² She was the daughter of Ora Otis Ball and Mildred Helen Wilson.¹ Mina May Ball married Howard Lyle Meyers, son of William Meyers and Irene LeRoy, on 22 October 1921 at Pontiac, Oakland Co., MI.³ Mina May Ball died on 6 February 1982 at MI at age 78.^2,4

     Roy Parsons Ball was born on 17 June 1899 at Gaylord, Otsego Co., MI.^3,4 He was the son of Ora Otis Ball and Mildred Helen Wilson.¹ Roy Parsons Ball married Edna Arlene Casler, daughter of John Charles Casler and Irena Diantha Ball, on 11 June 1922 at Ingham Co., MI.¹ Roy Parsons Ball married Bertha Irtrude Adams, daughter of William Blair Adams and Mary Ellen Kuhn, on 2 September 1936 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN.⁴ Roy Parsons Ball died on 7 January 1982 at North Bend, Coos Co., OR, at age 82; SSDI lists last residence as North Bend, Coos Co., OR.^1,3 He was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Coos Bay, Coos Co., OR.⁴

Ball, 82, North Bend, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the North Bend Chapel, 2014 McPherson, with Pastor Philip Welklin of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Concluding services will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Ball was born June 7, 1899, in Pontiac, Mich. [sic; should be 17 June in Gaylord, MI] and died 7 January in North Bend. prior to moving to North Bend five years ago, he had resided in Bandon. His wife, Bertha, preceded him in death in 1968. He is survived by sons Lewis Ball of North Bend, Leon Ball of Coos Bay and Roy Ball Jr. of McClary, Washington; daughters, Susan Gooden of Bloomfield, Iowa, Edna Stankauki [sic] of Exeland, Wisconsin, and Zoe Miller of Kalamazoo, Michigan [Note: she was an adopted daughter of wife Bertha]; brothers Nathan Ball of Caldwell, Idaho, Chester Ball of Park Falls, Wisconsin, and Lewis Ball of Pontiac; sister Nina Meyers of Pontiac; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-granchildren.⁴      Photo courtesy of Barb Sparks of Iowa.
