     Jacob Green Ball was born on 9 April 1789 at Chatham, Morris Co., NJ.² He was the son of Cornelius Ball and Sarah Budd.³ Jacob Green Ball married Lucretia Hoyt, daughter of Job Hoyt and Anna Raymond, on 30 November 1809 at Norwalk, Fairfield Co., CT.³ Jacob Green Ball married Rachel Brady on 4 December 1836.³ Jacob Green Ball died circa 1855.¹
     At fourteen years old at Norwalk, Fairfield Co., CT, he learned the potter's trade with a local Methodist preacher by the name of Day.² He established pottery works of his own and during the war of 1812 found plenty of employment in making dishes and cups at Saratoga Co., NY.²

     George Ball was born on 9 May 1817 at Saratoga, Saratoga Co., NY.² He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ George Ball married Sarah Catherine Perry, daughter of James Perry and Sarah Barker, on 19 April 1843 at Galveston, Galveston Co., TX.³ George Ball died on 13 March 1884 at Galveston, Galveston Co., TX, at age 66.² He was buried at Trinity Episcopal Cemetery, Galveston, Galveston Co., TX.⁴

     Charles Ball was born on 4 April 1819 at NY.¹ He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ Charles Ball married Rebecca H. Simpson on 2 April 1844.² Charles Ball was buried at Chico Cemetery, Chico, Butte Co., CA.³

     Rebecca H. Simpson was born circa 1828 at NY.² She married Charles Ball, son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt, on 2 April 1844.³ Rebecca H. Simpson died on 7 November 1886.³ She was buried at Chico Cemetery, Chico, Butte Co., CA.⁴
     As of circa 1845,her married name was Ball.

     Sarah Ball was born on 14 May 1821.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ Sarah Ball died on 8 October 1824 at age 3.¹

     John Budd Ball was born on 5 April 1823 at Gansevoort, Saratoga Co., NY.² He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.³ John Budd Ball married Sarah Bush circa 1848.⁴ John Budd Ball married Margaret Barrett Clarke, daughter of James Oscar Clarke and Rachel Barker Sands, on 11 October 1877 at Milton, Ulster Co., NY.^1,2 John Budd Ball died on 3 October 1898 at Milton, Ulster Co., NY, at age 75.^1,2 He was buried at Hicksite Friends Cemetery, Milton, Ulster Co., NY.¹
     He worked in the pottery owned by his father in 1836 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY.¹ In 1845 he went to Milton, Ulster Co., NY, and commenced work as a journeyman in the Milton foundry, then owned and operated by Dr. Lee Ensign. In a few years he purchased a quarter-interest, and then a half-interest in the business, finally, in 1855, becoming sole proprietor of the foundry. From that time until 1869 Mr. Ball continued to successfully operate the foundry, giving it a wide reputation, and becoming recognized for many years as one of the leading manufacturers of the county.      James Ball was born on 14 February 1825 at NY.¹ He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ James Ball married Sarah Scott circa 1852.¹ James Ball died on 9 May 1862 at age 37; died of fever contracted while serving in the Union army in North Carolina.¹

     Job Ball was born on 4 March 1827 at NY.¹ He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ Job Ball died in November 1896 at NM at age 69.²

     Harriet Ball was born on 20 January 1829.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ Harriet Ball died in August 1833 at age 4.¹

     Nettie Ball was born on 8 January 1831 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt.¹ Nettie Ball married T. J. Girardeau on 14 November 1872 at Galveston, Galveston Co., TX.²
     As of 14 November 1872,her married name was Girardeau.²

     Robert S. Armstrong was born circa 1824 at NY.² He married Lucretia H. Ball, daughter of Jacob Green Ball and Lucretia Hoyt, on 31 August 1879.³

     Rachel Brady married Jacob Green Ball, son of Cornelius Ball and Sarah Budd, on 4 December 1836.²
     Perhaps she was the "widow Hoxie" at her marriage to Jacob Ball.² As of 4 December 1836,her married name was Ball.

     Samuel Ball was born on 25 March 1838 at NY.¹ He was the son of Jacob Green Ball and Rachel Brady.¹ Samuel Ball married Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of Thomas H. Thompson and Mary Budd Ball, say 1865.¹
