     Asa Childs was born on 19 June 1767 at Upton, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Josiah Child and Elizabeth Ball.¹ Asa Childs married Rebekah Taft, daughter of John Taft, on 21 October 1784 at Upton, Worcester Co., MA.² Asa Childs married Clarissa Partridge, daughter of Moses Partridge and Rachel Thayer, on 23 October 1799 at Medway, Norfolk Co., MA.³ Asa Childs and Clarissa Partridge posted marriage intentions on 1 June 1799 at Upton, Worcester Co., MA; "Lt. Asa and Clarace Ide."² Asa Childs died on 9 January 1850 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA, at age 82.⁴ He was buried at Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA.⁴
