Baldwin.² William Weaver Ball married Angeline Conklin Smith, daughter of Samuel Smith and Mary A. (????), on 13 July 1856 at Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY.² William Weaver Ball died on 13 February 1910 at Bronx, NY, at age 77.² He was buried at Westminster Cemetery, Cranbury, Middlesex Co., NJ.²
     He served as a Private in Company A, 84th Reg. Armory, New York from 4 July 1863 to 4 August 1863.²

     Angeline Conklin Smith was born on 8 December 1839 at NY.² She was the daughter of Samuel Smith and Mary A. (????)³ Angeline Conklin Smith married William Weaver Ball, son of Jacob Weaver Ball and Mary B. Baldwin, on 13 July 1856 at Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY.¹ Angeline Conklin Smith died on 2 July 1894 at age 54.³ She was buried at Westminster Cemetery, Cranbury, Middlesex Co., NJ.³

Gerrard, daughter of Edmund S. Gerrard and Angeline A. Thompson, circa 1880.² Jacob Weaver Ball died on 11 October 1933 at Queens Co., NY, at age 75.¹ He was buried at Mount Olivet, Maspeth, Queens Co., NY.¹

     Ernest J. Shelman was born circa 1908 at AR.¹ He was the son of John Wesley Shelman and Oma B. (????)¹

     Lester Ball was the son of Jesse Porter Ball and Liza Jane Cooksey.¹

     Billy Lee Ball was born on 15 November 1947 at CA.¹ He died on 24 November 1995 at Butte, Siskiyou Co., CA, at age 48.¹

     Martha Jane Perkins was born circa 1826 at Jefferson Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of Susan (????)² Martha Jane Perkins married Simpson Charlton Ball, son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton, on 15 June 1851 at Warren Co., IA.¹ Martha Jane Perkins died before 1900.³

     Simpson Charlton Ball was born on 5 January 1829 at Clark Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ Simpson Charlton Ball married Martha Jane Perkins, daughter of Susan (????), on 15 June 1851 at Warren Co., IA.¹

     John P. Cotnam was born on 25 December 1826 at White Co., IL.¹ He married Ann Pamela Ball, daughter of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton, on 15 October 1854.¹ John P. Cotnam died on 3 September 1894 at Warren Co., IA, at age 67.²

     Ann Pamela Ball was born on 4 August 1833 at Clark Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ Ann Pamela Ball married John P. Cotnam on 15 October 1854.¹ Ann Pamela Ball died on 1 November 1896 at Warren Co., IA, at age 63.² She was buried at Norwalk Cemetery, Linn, Warren Co., IA.²

     Dr. William Green Ball was born on 31 October 1806 at New York, New York Co., NY.² He was the son of William Ball and Ann Pamela Green.¹ Dr. William Green Ball married Elizabeth Thompson Charlton, daughter of Simpson Charlton and Elizabeth Wilson, on 5 March 1828 at Clark Co., IN.² Dr. William Green Ball died on 23 September 1881 at Greenfield, Warren Co., IA, at age 74.³ He was buried at Linn Grove Cemetery, Prole, Warren Co., IA.⁴
     From an obituary in the "Peoples Advocate" 12 October 1881: Ball, Dr. W.G., an old settler died at John Cotnam's, his son-in-law, in Greenfield Township, of the 23rd day of Sept., in the 77th year of his life. He came to this county in 1846, from Missouri and located near Lothrop, entered two sections of as fine a land as Warren County affords, besides entering and given land to several of his children living in the same neighborhood. He was a successful physician, a gentleman and a Christian. He was interested in political and community affairs. About 12 years ago he emigrated to Kansas, then Arkansas.      William Thomas Ball was born on 28 February 1831 at Clark Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ William Thomas Ball married Elya Jaquis on 27 December 1855.¹ William Thomas Ball died on 26 August 1862 at age 31.¹

     John Washington Ball was born on 15 June 1836 at Clark Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ John Washington Ball married Elizabeth A. Willis, daughter of Thomas Willis and Margaret Vaughan, on 5 November 1857.¹ John Washington Ball died on 26 August 1862 at age 26; killed by Indians near Ham's Fork, Wyoming.²

     Samuel Henry Ball was born on 25 February 1840 at Clark Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ Samuel Henry Ball married Margaret Willis, daughter of Thomas Willis and Margaret Vaughan, on 14 April 1864.¹ Samuel Henry Ball married Emily Summerville on 26 June 1879 at IA.² Samuel Henry Ball died in 1920 at Washington Co., AR.³

     Mary Esta Ball was born on 16 September 1843 at Clark Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ Mary Esta Ball married John Wesley Shelman, son of John Shelman and Nancy M. Leftwich, on 12 November 1863 at Warren Co., IA.¹ Mary Esta Ball died in 1898 at Benton Co., AR.² She was buried at Butler Creek Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Benton Co., AR.²

     Lewis Charlton Ball was born on 18 April 1848 at IA.^1,3 He was the son of Dr. William Green Ball and Elizabeth Thompson Charlton.¹ Lewis Charlton Ball married Rhoda Ann Cherry, daughter of Peter Francis Cherry and Charlotte T. Nesselrode, on 1 March 1868 at Warren Co., IA.¹ Lewis Charlton Ball died on 16 February 1904 at Chandlerville, Cass Co., IL, at age 55.^1,4 He was buried at Chandlerville Cemetery, Chandlerville, Cass Co., IL.⁴

Comment by DGB: Both son William and daughter Ann list Scotland as place of birth for William on their respective 1880 censuses. End of comment.² He married Ann Pamela Green on 11 February 1797 at First Methodist Episcopal Church, Baltimore, MD.³ William Ball died on 30 September 1818 at New York, New York Co., NY.³ He was buried at Allen Street Methodist Episcopal Churchyard, Manhattan, New York Co., NY.³ He was buried at Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY; Comment by DGB: After a ban on burials below 86th Street in Manhattan, the trustees of the Allen Street Methodist Episcopal Church removed the dead in their churchyard to a plat in Cypress Hills Cemetery. The removals began in 1854 and lasted two years. End of comment.²
     Obituary from the "New York Evening Post": Died, suddenly, yesterday afternoon, Mr. William Ball, shipwright. His friends and acquaintance, and those of Joseph S. Webb and Jacob Weaver, are requested to attend his funeral this afternoon at 4 o'clock, from 373 Pearl-street.³

     Ann Pamela Green was born say 1777 at MD; Comment by DGB: Her place of birth is based on her daughter Ann's 1880 census. Her age is based on the 1800 census showing her to be 16 to 25 (born 1775 to 1784) as compared to her marriage year of 1797 and a common range of age at marriage of 17 to 22 (born 1775 to 1780). End of comment. She married William Ball on 11 February 1797 at First Methodist Episcopal Church, Baltimore, MD.² Ann Pamela Green died on 23 September 1821 at Charlestown, Clark Co., IN.²

     Perry Cotnam was born in July 1855 at IA.² He was the son of John P. Cotnam and Ann Pamela Ball.¹ Perry Cotnam married Florence M. Edwards, daughter of Mary (????), circa 1886.² Perry Cotnam died in 1914.³

     Warren Perkins Ball was born on 30 May 1863 at Warren Co., IA.¹ He was the son of Simpson Charlton Ball and Martha Jane Perkins.¹ Warren Perkins Ball married Malinda Fine, daughter of Peter Fine and Ruth (????), circa 1887 at Rudy, Crawford Co., AR.¹ Warren Perkins Ball died on 3 August 1935 at Andrew Co., MO, at age 72.¹ He was buried at Newberry Chapel Cemetery, Alma, Crawford Co., AR.²

     Malinda Fine was born on 10 April 1864 at Fine Springs, Crawford Co., AR.¹ She was the daughter of Peter Fine and Ruth (????)³ Malinda Fine married Warren Perkins Ball, son of Simpson Charlton Ball and Martha Jane Perkins, circa 1887 at Rudy, Crawford Co., AR.¹ Malinda Fine died on 13 April 1949 at Crawford Co., AR, at age 85.¹ She was buried at Newberry Chapel Cemetery, Alma, Crawford Co., AR.³
     As of circa 1887,her married name was Ball.¹ From an obituary in the "Press Argus" Van Buren, Arkansas an unknown date : Mrs. Nellie Melinda Ball, 85 year old native of the Fine Springs community, near Alma, died at her home about 12:30 p.m. Thursday April 14, 1949, after an illness of two months. Mrs. Ball was the wife of the late W.P. Ball, who died in 1930. She was the daughter of Peter and Ruth Fine, members of a widely known Crawford county family. Survivors include two sons; a half-sister; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.³
