From an obituary in the "Rome Daily Sentinel", Rome, NY: At the residence of her daughter Mrs. Seymour Carrier, on Wednesday morning, occurred the death of Mrs. Selinda (Day) Myers, widow of John Myers, age 76 (b. 1824). She was born in Lassellsville, Fulton County and had lived in Steuben and Western for the past 48 years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ruby Myers of Des Moines, Iowa; 1 son John D. Myers of Des Moines and 3 daughters; Mrs. Ella B. Dopp,of Lassellville, Mrs Lucy Carrier of this place and Mrs. Charles Shaler of Floyd. The funeral will be held at M.E .Chruch at Steuben Corners. The deceased was a member of the M.E. church and had always taken much interest in church work. She enjoyed a large acquaintance and was universaly respected.¹
