She was born September 20, 1920, in Rome, the daughter of Sanford and Mary Quinn Goetz. She was a 1939 graduate of Rome Free Academy. On March 5, 1943, she married Orville Anson. He passed away September 13, 1997. Helen worked for the Rome City School District for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and David Combs, of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jean Anson, of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Ryan Kane, Stacey (Paul) Evans, Scott (Buffy) Anson, Mark (Kylene) Anson, and Tim Anson; three great-grandchildren; nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by two sisters, Therese Goetz, and Phyllis Fitchard.¹

Lawton, son of Harold Powell Lawton and Edith May Carrier, on 24 August 1940 at Vernon Center, Oneida Co., NY.¹ Eleanor Grant died on 17 January 2008 at Rome, Oneida Co., NY, at age 86.¹ She was buried at West Verona Cemetery, Verona, Oneida Co., NY.¹

     Comment by DGB: Some have Horace marrying 11 Apr 1860 to Mary E. Esselstyn, but that would been when Harace was age 13 and very unlikely. End of comment.

     Willard Hitchcock was born on 20 February 1878 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.¹ He was the son of Horace Hitchcock and Susan A. Carrier.² Willard Hitchcock married Mary L. Kennedy on 15 October 1903 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.²
