     Deacon Benjamin Rider was born on 13 September 1761 at Provincetown, Barnstable Co., MA; "Banjamine Rider."² He was the son of Benjamin Rider and Experience Crosby.² Deacon Benjamin Rider was baptized on 4 April 1762 at Truro, Barnstable Co., MA.¹ He married Sarah Pratt, daughter of Rufus Pratt and Hannah Ball, on 10 June 1788 at New Braintree, Worcester Co., MA.³ Deacon Benjamin Rider died on 20 March 1854 at Painesville, Lake Co., OH, at age 92.¹ He was buried at Rider Cemetery, Chardon, Geauga Co., OH.¹

     Hannah Pratt was born on 16 August 1766 at Hardwick, Worcester Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Rufus Pratt and Hannah Ball.¹ Hannah Pratt married Samuel Thrasher on 28 April 1785 at New Braintree, Worcester Co., MA.¹
     As of 28 April 1785,her married name was Thrasher.¹

     Deborah Belknap was born on 31 July 1732 at Framingham, Middlesex Co., MA.² She was the daughter of Jedidiah Belknap and Deborah Streeter.^3,4 Deborah Belknap married Jacob Ball, son of Benjamin Ball and Mary Brewer, on 9 January 1748/49 at Sudbury, Middlesex Co., MA.⁵ Deborah Belknap died on 15 September 1793 at Amherst Island, Lennox & Addington Co., ON, Canada, at age 61.¹

     Susannah Ball was born circa 1762 at Newfane, Windham Co., VT.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Ball and Deborah Belknap.¹ Susannah Ball married Amos Martin, son of James Tanner and Mary Wilcox, circa 1781 at Newfane, Windham Co., VT.¹ Susannah Ball married Peter Asseltine on 9 January 1809.¹ Susannah Ball married Hughston Walker on 17 December 1820.¹ Susannah Ball died on 20 February 1844 at Ernestown, Lennox & Addington Co., ON, Canada.¹ She was buried at Wilton Cemetery, Ernestown, Lennox & Addington Co., ON, Canada.¹
     As of circa 1781,her married name was Martin. As of 9 January 1809,her married name was Asseltine.¹ As of 17 December 1820,her married name was Walker.¹

     Susannah Pratt was born on 3 November 1768 at Greenwich, Worcester Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Rufus Pratt and Hannah Ball.¹ Susannah Pratt married Solomon Piper, son of Joseph Piper and Esther Wright, on 28 September 1788 at Greenwich, Worcester Co., MA.² Susannah Pratt died on 27 June 1844 at Dublin, Cheshire Co., NH, at age 75.²

     Leland Pratt was born on 8 May 1773 at Greenwich, Worcester Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Rufus Pratt and Hannah Ball.¹

     Amos Martin was born circa 1756 at West Greenwich, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of James Tanner and Mary Wilcox.² Amos Martin married Susannah Ball, daughter of Jacob Ball and Deborah Belknap, circa 1781 at Newfane, Windham Co., VT.¹ Amos Martin died circa 1838 at QC, Canada.¹
     Amos Martin Sr. was born in Rhode Island as Amos Tanner. As Amos Tanner, he married first Mary ?? and had two children, names unknown. He was in Windham, CT, for a regiment for Bunker Hill from 3 May 1775 to 16 Dec 1775. In a 1776 payroll, 1pound, 3 shillings, 5 -1/2 pence was due Amos Tanner, Second Corporal. He seemingly disappears from records in CT and RI, but as Amos Martin he appears in the State of Vermont in several periods of service: Amos Martin, 6 months, in 1781, Derryfield, New Hampshire; Sgt. Amos Martin, of Capt. Ebenezer Merrick's Co., 2 days in September, 1782, assisting the Sheriff in Brattleboro, Vermont and 2 days in December, 1782, assisting the Sheriff in Brattleboro, Vermont. In St. John's, Quebec, he appears on 20 Jan 1784 when he applies for a grant of land in Quebec and also is on a list of Unincorporated Loyalists in St. John's Quebec, dated 26 May 1784, at which time he states he has a wife and two children. Settling in the Ernesttown and Bath, ON, area, c1784, he farms and raises a family of eight.
     In 1807, Amos Sr., left his family to return to his former home in Rhode Island, declaring he wished to visit his relatives. In doing so, he abandoned his second wife Susannah and his family. In 1819, his son Amos Jr. wished a clear title to a farm Amos Sr. had near Selby, Ontario. It is believed that he was able to locate his father as by 1819, Amos Sr. was a neighbour of Jacob Ball, Jr., younger brother of Susannah. Amos Sr. did clear the title to his son. In 1837, Amos Sr. returned to visit his family in Ernesttown Twp., bringing with him a son Simeon by his third "wife". He stayed the winter and when he returned to Quebec, Amos Jr. accompanied him. Much to Amos Jr.'s surprise, the Brome neighbours greeted his father as "Mr. Tanner". Shortly after returning to Brome, Amos Tanner/Martin died, and is believed to be buried in Brome, Quebec.
     He has left his descendants many unanswered questions, specifically whether he and Susannah were legally married as the death date of his first wife Mary is given as first 6 months of 1782, or why he left Rhode Island and changed his name. If he had decided to join the Loyalists and follow King George, this would have been not of his family's choosing, as the Rhode Island Tanners were not Loyalists but Revolutionists.²

     Mary Pratt was born on 27 July 1775 at Greenwich, Worcester Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Rufus Pratt and Hannah Ball.¹ Mary Pratt married Reuben Spaulding on 3 November 1795.¹
     As of 3 November 1795,her married name was Spaulding.¹
