     From the Calgary Herald newspaper (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) 18 November 1933: Rufus Kimpton, known to his friends as "Rufe", who is spending the autumn of his life at Windermere in East Kootenay, has always had the wandering foot. He left home in Eastern Canada at the age of 16 and traveled over the southwestern states for some time. Returning home for a brief space he came west over the newly constructed line of the C.P.R., arriving in Calgary November 1883. "Rufe" started in Calgary as handy man and advisor to H. Mouleton, proprietor of the Royal Hotel, in a town of about 300 people. He soon transferred his activities to Donald, then a divisional point on the C.P.R., and engaged in business as hotelkeeper and in partnership with J. Stein as a store-keeper. One of "Rufe's" outstanding exploits was the theft of the small Episcopal church at Donald which, in his opinion, was no longer necessary there as the point had been practically abandoned by the C.P.R. Turver died on 8 December 1949 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 87.¹
