     Chancellor S. Ball was born circa 1831 at NY.² He was the son of Joseph Sheffield Ball and Mary Freelove Mitchell.¹

     Ogilvie Devillo Ball was born on 4 February 1840 at Schuyler Lake, Otsego Co., NY.² He was the son of Joseph Sheffield Ball and Mary Freelove Mitchell.³ Ogilvie Devillo Ball married Adelaide Vanderzee circa 1873.⁴
     Comment by DGB: This person may be a grandson or other relative of Joseph Ball, since his birth would have been when Joseph was in his late 60s and Freelove about 50, quite late for a natural child. One possibility would be to have him be a son of Joseph W. by an unknown first wife. End of comment. Ogilvie Devillo Ball was graduated from Hartwick Seminary in 1858, and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York City as M.D. in 1867. He was lieutenant and quartermaster of the Third New York Artillery from 1862 until 1865, and was assistant adjutant-general, department of North Carolina at the close of the War of the Rebellion.
     He commenced the practice of medicine in Schenevus, remaining there for six years, when, in 1874, he removed to Albany. He served on the staff of the Albany Hospital for five years, and during 1874 and 1878 was a member of the faculty of the Albany Medical College, being demonstrator of anatomy and lecturer on special subjects. Dr. Ball was a member and president of the Albany County Medical Society, and was also a member and treasurer of the New York State Medical Society, and member of the American Medical Association of Otsego County.      Lydia Ball was born circa 1786 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² She was the daughter of John Ball and Fidelia Littlefield.¹ Lydia Ball married Captain Mark Pendleton, son of Samuel Pendleton and Bathsheba Dodge, circa 1806.³ Lydia Ball died in June 1869 at Islesboro, Waldo Co., ME.³

     Captain Mark Pendleton was born circa 1784 at Islesboro, Waldo Co., ME.³ He was the son of Samuel Pendleton and Bathsheba Dodge.² Captain Mark Pendleton married Lydia Ball, daughter of John Ball and Fidelia Littlefield, circa 1806.² Captain Mark Pendleton died on 25 December 1867 at Islesboro, Waldo Co., ME.²

     Edward Ball was born circa 1775 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Edward Ball and Fear Young.¹ Edward Ball married Mary Odell on 13 November 1796 at Queensbury, Warren Co., NY.^2,3 Edward Ball married Lydia Ann Foote, daughter of Charles Foote and Sarah Day, circa 1806 at Freedom, Cattaraugus Co., NY.² Edward Ball died circa 1859 at Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA.¹

     Catherine Dodge was born circa 1774.² She was the daughter of Rev. Thomas Dodge and Catharine Dunn.¹ Catherine Dodge married Samuel Ball, son of Edward Ball and Mary Dodge, on 28 January 1796 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI; "Caty."³ Catherine Dodge died on 18 April 1821.² She was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.²
     As of 28 January 1796,her married name was Ball.

     Rev. Thomas Dodge married Catharine Dunn, daughter of Samuel Dunn and Priscilla Ball.

     Bathsheba Ball was born on 25 November 1798 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² She was the daughter of Samuel Ball and Catherine Dodge.³ Bathsheba Ball married Edmund Dodge, son of Samuel Dodge and Lydia Sprague, circa 1818.³ Bathsheba Ball died on 30 May 1870 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI, at age 71.⁴ She was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.¹

Hiscox on 23 December 1837 at Stonington, New London Co., CT.⁴ Thomas Dodge Ball married Emma (????) say 1847.² Thomas Dodge Ball married Mary A. (????) circa 1860.² Thomas Dodge Ball died on 23 November 1897 at age 81.² He was buried at Hilliard Cemetery, Stonington, New London Co., CT.²

     Abby L. Mitchell was born on 28 June 1819 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.^2,3,4 She was the daughter of Amos Mitchell and Olive (????)^1,4 Abby L. Mitchell married Jesse Ball, son of Samuel Ball and Catherine Dodge, circa 1839.¹ Abby L. Mitchell died on 5 February 1910 at age 90.² She was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.²

     Gideon Dodge Ball was born on 6 October 1795 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.^2,1 He was the son of Isaiah Ball and Margaret Dodge.³ Gideon Dodge Ball married Lydia S. Dodge, daughter of Samuel Dodge and Lydia Sprague.³ Gideon Dodge Ball died on 23 December 1850 at RI at age 55; drowned off of Block Island.^4,1 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.⁴

Dodge married Gideon Dodge Ball, son of Isaiah Ball and Margaret Dodge.¹ Lydia S. Dodge died on 28 October 1891 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI, at age 95.^3,2 She was buried at Old Cemetery, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.³

     Arthur W. Ball was born on 14 February 1861 at RI.¹ He was the son of Leander A. Ball and Bersheba D. Mitchell.¹ Arthur W. Ball died on 2 April 1914 at age 53.¹

     Leander A. Ball was born on 15 October 1830 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² He was the son of Gideon Dodge Ball and Lydia S. Dodge.¹ Leander A. Ball married Bersheba D. Mitchell, daughter of Robert Chittry Mitchell and Elizabeth Laura Rose, on 18 June 1857 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.³ Leander A. Ball died on 10 August 1905 at Block Island, Washington Co., RI, at age 74.²

     Amanda D. Ball was born circa 1824 at RI.² She was the daughter of Gideon Dodge Ball and Lydia S. Dodge.³ Amanda D. Ball married William L. Millikan on 14 January 1843 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI; "Cornelia A."⁴ Amanda D. Ball died circa 1902.⁵
