     Comment by DGB: It is an assumption that James C. Ball is the father of Jefferson Davis Ball. Jefferson Davis Ball was born in Madison County, New York in 1826. He named his oldest daughter Julia for his sister. James Ball was living in Brookfield, Madison, New York in the 1830 census and had a son in the right age group to be Jefferson. He also had a daughter named Julia. End of comment.³

     David Ball was born on 6 May 1805 at Cooperstown, Otsego Co., NY.¹ He was the son of Moses Ball.¹ David Ball married Nancy (????) say 1831.² David Ball died on 31 March 1866 at Cooperstown, Otsego Co., NY, at age 60.¹
