     Lydia Merritt was born circa 1789 at Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT; age at death 57y.^2,3 She was the daughter of Cornbury Merritt and Mary (????)⁴ Lydia Merritt married Daniel Ball, son of Daniel Ball and Hannah (????), say 1807. Lydia Merritt died on 29 August 1846 at Lee, Berkshire Co., MA; Comment by DGB: Both the Massachusetts Vital Record Series to 1850 and a 8 June 2009 "Certificate of Death from the Records of Death in the Town of Lee, Massachusetts" show the date to be 20 August 1846, while the state copy of the 1846 Lee death records clearly shows the date to be 29 August 1846. After discussion with the Town Clerk of Lee, a new death certificate has been issued based on data taken from Volume 2, Page 75, Number 16 of the Town Records - Vital Statistics of Lee, Berkshire Co., MA (1844-1892) that confirms the August 29 date. End of Comment.^5,6,7 She was buried at South Lee Cemetery, Lee, Berkshire Co., MA.⁴
