Daniel Ball died before 1840; his widow is head of household for the census.⁴

     Erastus Ball was born circa 1767 at Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Daniel Ball and Hannah (????)¹ Erastus Ball was baptized on 14 June 1784 at St. James Episcopal Church, Great Barrington, Berkshire Co., MA.² He married Sarah Seeley on 23 August 1787 at West Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., MA.³ Erastus Ball died circa October 1803 at Westford, Chittenden Co., VT; Comment by DGB: Administration of the estate of Erastus Ball, late of Westford VT, was granted 24 January 1804 to Peter Neels and the widow Sarah was visited 1 November 1803 following the death. This leaves the parentage of John T. Ball that was born April 1805 in question. End of comment.

     May-December 1775 - Fought as a Captain in Revolutionary War in Col. Timothy Danielson's Massachusetts Regiment; 1 November 1777 - wounded; 1 January 1781 - later promoted to Major, retired June 1782.
