     Who this Polly Ball may have married is a challenging question. There is a marriage intention between John Pollard of Berlin MA and Polly Ball of Northborough entered 28 Jun 1794 at Northborough that best suits a woman born in Northborough and whose parents died in Northborough later than this event. One problem with this is that there is a marriage record dated 3 Apr 1794 (nearly 3 months earlier) between a John Pollard and Polly Ball at Berlin MA. Some trees on-line claim this is the Polly Ball that married Nathan Fisher 25 Dec 1793 at Westorough MA (and that record shows both parties as residents of Westborough); note that there is a death record for Polly Fisher, wife of Nathan Fisher, having died 1 Jan 1804 at Concord VT.^4,5,6 As of 3 April 1794,her married name was Pollard.³

     Susannah Hastings was born on 3 November 1772 at Boylston, Worcester Co., MA.^1,2 She was the daughter of David Hastings and Dinah Williams.³ Susannah Hastings married Nathan Ball, son of Nathan Ball and Elizabeth Reed, on 10 January 1793 at Boylston, Worcester Co., MA.⁴ Susannah Hastings died on 20 July 1854 at Northborough, Worcester Co., MA, at age 81.⁵ She was buried at Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough, Worcester Co., MA.³

     Nathan Ball was born on 19 January 1796 at Northborough, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Nathan Ball and Susannah Hastings.¹ Nathan Ball married Abigail Carruth, daughter of Ephraim Carruth and Sarah (????), on 19 March 1829 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA; "Abigail Carouth."³ Nathan Ball died on 20 June 1876 at Clinton, Worcester Co., MA, at age 80.⁴

     Mary Williams Ball was born on 6 June 1797 at Northborough, Worcester Co., MA.² She was the daughter of Nathan Ball and Susannah Hastings.¹ Mary Williams Ball married William Larkin on 20 March 1828 at Lancaster, Worcester Co., MA; also recorded 28 May 1828 at Northborough, Worcester Co., MA.^3,4
