In the 1850 Census, the value of his estate is estimated at $25,000, so he was a wealthy man in his time. According to an inventory of his estate at the time of death, Daniel owned considerable real estate in the downtown Boston area, which included a wooden house with all the land belonging at 195 Broadway, Boston, Mass. Two wooden houses with the land belonging on 2nd street in Boston Mass, valued at $2000. A wooden house at the corner of Battery March and Hamilton Street, valued at $4000. A brick store with land at the corner of Custom House and Will Street, valued at $6000, for a total of $17,200. The inventory was also mentioned a Pew in the Baptist Church and St Michael's Church. The estate named, " Mary Ball, widow of the within named Daniel G Ball, deceased, and Bennett Morgan and Sarah his wife, William W Cummings and Martha his wife, and Henry and Caroline Ball, all the heirs at law of said deceased".1
