     The petition to administer his estate was filed on August 19, 1850 by James Weld of Roxsbury, Norfolk County, Merchant, "by widow and heirs at law". It was proved September 9, 1850. In the 1850 Census, the value of his estate is estimated at $25,000, so he was a wealthy man in his time. According to an inventory of his estate at the time of death, Daniel owned considerable real estate in the downtown Boston area, which included a wooden house with all the land belonging at 195 Broadway, Boston, Mass. Two wooden houses with the land belonging on 2nd street in Boston Mass, valued at $2000. A wooden house at the corner of Battery March and Hamilton Street, valued at $4000. A brick store with land at the corner of Custom House and Will Street, valued at $6000, for a total of $17,200. The inventory was also mentioned a Pew in the Baptist Church and St Michael's Church. The estate named, " Mary Ball, widow of the within named Daniel G Ball, deceased, and Bennett Morgan and Sarah his wife, William W Cummings and Martha his wife, and Henry and Caroline Ball, all the heirs at law of said deceased".¹
