     Her married name was Ashley.¹ Comment by DGB: Persis' father's name is listed on her death record. Best fit would be Tyler Ball, son of Israel and Persis Ball of Kingston and Granville VT. However, the 1820 census for that Tyler Ball does not have a female under 10 living with him. End of comment.

     Dexter Ashley was born on 4 May 1818 at Moretown, Washington Co., VT.^1,2 He was the son of Philemon Ashley and Sylvia Krete.² Dexter Ashley married Persis Ball, daughter of Tyler Ball.¹ Dexter Ashley died on 15 July 1892 at Moretown, Washington Co., VT, at age 74.^1,2 He was buried at Moretown Village Cemetery, Moretown, Washington Co., VT.¹
